Default Went to a very scary secret underground bunker once...

Just found a site about it and read how scary and secret it really is!

This was about 4 years ago but i remember it vividly like it was yesterday and it still kinds sends shivers down ma spine...

Let me tell you a story.... (WARNING! LONG! BUT GOOD)

Was working for an unnamed comapny and was working around Wiltshire and Somerset that day...
Had a few places to go in and around Corsham and first place was infact Peter Gabrials (sp?) home and recording studio! Was there for a while and next place i had to go according to the invoice was "Corsham Computers".
So i thought easy, piddly lil computer shop, lets go...

Drove there but the road it was meant to be on wasnt in a built up area like i thought, it was in the middle of nowhere, i thought there was a mistake then i saw a very amatuerish small black and white sign saying CORSHAM COMPUTERS and and arrow pointing down a lane off the road...

I thought it must be some geezer working from his house in the sticks, drives a long way down this lane and suddenly realise now both sides of this lane now have barbed wire either side and CCTV cameras every few meters

Gets out into a clearing and the lane ends and theres just an oval section of barbed wire surrounding me, more cameras, and steps leading underground to a green door...

I was well confused but got my tools out the van and suddenly a angry voice comes from some loudspeaker somewhere "Who are you? What are you doing here?" Me, dead confused and a half thinking im about to be shot says to somthing (to this day i wasnt sure where the voices were coming from, couldnt see no speakers) "Im from ****** ive come to fix the ********". They goes "Whats in that box? Put it down!" I goes, "Its only tools" then nothing, i just stood there for about 20mins then the door down the steps opened, it was about 3 foot thick

Voice again "Walk down the stairs and thru the door, wait there" does as the voice says, to be confronted with 2 huge blokes in combats holding machine guns Took the toolbox off me, patted me down, but didnt say a word, and frankly i was too trashed to say owt

No signs or posters anywhere, well lit, only thing was right in front of me some VERY thick glass (presuming bullet proof) with 2 giant man sized test tube things as part of it, no door, and beyond that i could see a green lift door.
After another 10mins or so lift door opened, normal looking middleaged woman comes out, puts in a code on a keypad and a passcard, one side of one of the giant test tube opened, she steps in, it shuts, few secs later, this side opens, she gets out
Says to me, "come with me please" so i do, we both get into the test tube things (one in each) and they that tight they had to take the toolbox thru seperate, and we come out the other side...

Lift door opens, we get in (ive still not said a word ), the lift goes down, its a VERY fast express elevator, fastest ive ever felt, but we were still in it for a good 30secs so was WAY underground

Lift stops and opens (no buttons so i think only goes to one level), it opens to a huge empty circular room with i think 5 more corridors going off it, no other rooms i could see in the corridors, no signs, no posters, no nothing. Only thing in the room was what i had to sort. She goes "There it is" i did fixed it again without saying a word (tho i soo wanted to ask, i was freaked out and theyd never tell the truth anyhow), went back up in the lift, and got the hell out of there without any of em saying a word to me...

Well i was just having a read about summat else and it came up, check this out....

Corsham Computer Centre (or "CCC") - is actually a military "black project" and is the Government's new backup seat of control in the event of a national emergency. Such as nuclear war.
The CCC is rumoured to be powered by a inbuilt nuclear generator. It is even alleged that the Royal Family and the Government's top brass can be evacuated from London by train direct to the CCC by a secret link inside the adjacent Box Tunnel.

I BEEN IN THERE! And it was freaky as it sounds, if not more!

(BTW the Box Tunnel thing is just as freaky, a huge WW2 underground munitions base thats linked to a normal working train tunnel, but mainly a disused thing you can go exploring, not actually allowed, but you can...)

LOL.

Not that scary really Steve is it? I think itd be scary if the Govt/Military didnt have facilities like those suggested in the website linked etc.

Some of the stuff in that website is funny though, i guess its written by people wnating to find conspiricy though, but having been round certainly a few of those facilities its quiet amusing

When I was in the Royal Navy I worked there for 14 months 92-93. In winter used to go to work in the dark and go back to the mess in the dark. The only time I got to see day light was at week ends when I went home.

I didnt work for anyone that interesting, it was a water company and i used to just go and fix the machines, but the machines were in some RIGHT wierd places, sercret nuclear bunkers, brothels, celebs houses, deserted buldings in the middle of nowhere that look like they not been used for years, and carphone warehouse

Raver- No, wasnt like that, had big concrete steps leading to a door, but we talking a 3foot think metal one, not some lil glass paned jobs

ForiegnRS- Thats the stuff they like to SAY is secret to put people off, most the really secret stuff isnt mentioned at all, usually just says "Disused Airfield" and stuff on OS maps...

Adam- That looks a bit like a OTT Xfiles fan to me, thats NOT the same bit i went to.
The complex is huge, theres various bunkers around the area to do with Naval Communications, etc etc etc, but the exact one i went to- CCS- is VERY different and far more secure looking than the pics etc on that site, i dont think youl ever find pics of it on a site as theyd never allow pics, fuck they pointing guns at me, lol

PhilM- Its fookin scary when you think you going to a computer shoip and next thing you know you underground with machineguns pointed at you, being shouted at by people and theres not millitary markings or signs ANYWHERE so you cant even be sure its anything to do with the Military... (Unlike everywhere else thats military CCS has NO military signs or even signs that look like the usual red n white (or even any colour) council road signs....)

NeilS- Yea, theres a few like that, but Box Hill, which is linked to all this Corsham business by tunnels is the most well known. Its still used by trains as its a main line, and some of it is still used to do with the bunkers.
But a lot of the tunnels off it that were used in WW2 are disused and a lot of people go exploring, there plenty of sly access tunnels around the countryside if you got the bottle, meant to be VERY easy to get lost tho as it spans miles and miles and lots of different floors.

Also, on the M4 east, i think its between 12 and 13, theres a "Works Access Only" junction, is it fuck works, its a big base thing.

Chris- Did you work in the exact bit i went to or just somewhere on that area? Its just i know one of the other bunkers was to do with Naval Communications and my Sister has been there (she works for GCHQ) and her ex-husband (He somthing high up in the Navy).

Id be up for a sneak around the abandoned box hill tunnels, you can slyly get in them easy enough if you know what you doing, just need some more people who got the bottle to come as well.

And torches, lots and lots of torches...

And a compass n shit, and a good memory as its lots of levels and miles n miles so could get lost n die
