i need a favour can the people who think leepu fucked up our scooby golf project and thinks me shaun and julian should have our own show on discovery moding cars tastefully. go on to the chop shop forum and say this cos i think we need a british show on moding cars to show the yanks we can do it to and better and not putting a v8 in everything like they do. we all mone about lepu and his lash ups but unless discovery know what u think there wont be a show doing what we want to see. there is some people who left there opinions on the vagas car and discovery have read them and they thinks the sun shines out of his arse. i know lepu reads them and im going to see him on tuesday night at the end of show party and we would love to wipe the smug look off his face. cheers lee

But surely the whole point of the program is that there are a pair of 'characters' who build crazy one-off fabricated stuff. A program where two blokes make a car look nice won't have quite the same televisual appeal.

Also isn't it a bit foolish to bite the hand that feeds you?

 

I think the chances of a serious 'modding' show are very low... Most people including me only watch the program so I can see what Leepu has done to the car.

It's supply and demand, we demand the clueless people, discovery supply them.

if you get a program you should condider competions and the winner gets to come on set and watch/learn etc perhaps?

 

they cut out us alot to make them look good watch the next car the porsche 944 the make it look like burnie drove the transit to san tropez but it was me and the other boys burnie took the plane home we had a great time 13 hour road trip.

As someone from an engineering background and seeing some of the components used to build these cars I shudder at the thought of what death traps some of these cars are (6" wheel spacers..............arghhhhh). It's embarrassing to think that this show might be seen in countries like the USA where they do things properly "America Hotrod with Boyd Coddington, and the likes of Chip Foose".........and we come up with the crap shown in "Chop Shop".

What we need is something along the lines of the Boyd Coddington, Chip Foose programmes.

At the moment, we give the impression that were just a load of Bodgers here in the UK. It's embarrassing.

 

They should make Ovehaulin UK. Chip Foose strips a car, removes all the rust and puts it back together to (What seems) a very good standard!

American Chopper is good and Ive just finished going through all 5 seasons to catch up. American Chopper is filmed how many days a year? Each project takes around 4 weeks and they reduce it to 45-90mins viewing, showing the best bits. It makes Paul Junior look proper lazy (Leaving most work to Vinne in the first 4 seasons and now Rick, Mike, etc do most of it). It makes good viewing cause its not consistantly in the workshop or if it is, it shows they pratting about.

Chop Shop is the biggest load of wank Ive ever seen! I watched the one where the bloke wanted a bacon sandwich car made, but they turned it into a nice looking car (Can't remember what it was). The programme didn't interest me in anyway as they were not building anything decent and it didn't show hardly any of the work carried out, just the people building the car and they bored me rigid!

If your gonna do a UK one go to somewhere like Reyland, Harvey Gibbs, MAD, Andrew G, etc and get them to build proper project cars or show different tuners/builders in each season.

 

that was last years cars i put a stop to the spacers an spring cuting as ive said before we get 8 grand to build the cars and we dont get free v8 crate engines like chip cant compare these programs they are totaly different discovery uk dont alow advertising like the us wayne at pro will tel u that id just like to do a show like what we are doing but with a budget and cars we can all relate to ie. somthing like a evo powered spaceframed 106
