How do you get out of being utterly miserable?

Serious willpower, self education and therapy are the only real ways.

But then thats if you really are miserable to the point of being in depression. One mans miserable is another mans low so theres no way it can be communicated across an internet forum.

talk to someone in person about it, face to face. could be a close friend or a shrink.

go and get your wisdom teeth out, then you can be miserable

no seriously, sorting the reason why your miserable would be a good start

Is it general misery or something more specific making you miserable?

if its something thats making you feel really low then i would suggest speaking to someone. Either someone anonymous who can offer impartial advice ( maybe someone on a forum who you know can give you good honest advice) or maybe go see a counsellor or one of your friends.

It is hard opening up but if you know somethings causing a problem its better off out than chewing you up inside imo.

Hope its nothing too serious

Sarah

You just need to talk to someone mate. If you havent got the type of male friends you can talk to about it then any female ones? If not a stranger? It's often easier to talk to a stranger about your problems, they can be more objective as theres no personal involvement, hell pm me if you like and give me a buzz! . If it's serious think about counciling (sp) maybe.

If its making you feel miserable then it doesnt matter if you feel its not imortant to anyone, its important to you!

Go for a beer with a m8, best way I've found of dealing with shit that's sitting on your mind and bringing you down.

Mike - A few members on here pm me REGULARLY as thier agony aunt. They simply pm me with all of their issues, worries, concerns, feelings etc etc and get it all of their chest. If they want me to reply, i do, or if they just want to vent at someone that is ok too!

If you wanna write it all down and just shift it off your chest, feel free to.

Hope you start to feel a little more positive soon honey.

I think it helps when you can just get some attention from a beautiful blond chick that half the world seems to fancy

I think an internet forum sometimes IS the best place to get something off your chest, you don't have to take the advice given, but sometimes you get get advice.

You can think about what you want to say and type it, doing this sometimes feels as good as talking to someone and helps you think things through.

Remember, there is always someone worse of than you, so try to look at the positive sides of things, and work out how to change the negative, or get ride of those issues.

Life sometimes is not as bad as we convince ourselves it is, you only get one life, so run with the best bits.

Hope you sort it mate.

Matt

I've never thought talking about it helps, I don't want to talk about things that upset me and drag it all up again etc etc.
Watched a program on it and they said the same, otherwise (their example) if talking about it helped etc, then all the talking and that boxers do, they'd get in the ring and have a hug, lol.
If it's not financially, treat yourself to some cd's and dvd's you want.

I hate it when you're feeling down and you get the same old clichés that never help, no matter how true they are. Yes life is not a rehearsal, yes there's always someone worse off than you and yes you're a long time dead.
I always bottle everything up, always have and always will. I've just learnt to deal with it.
