Default Quick tyre question for you all please....

Ok,for the last 10years or so,all ive ever had were Eagle F1s,but seing as there not made any more, and aint going to be around for ever,i need to start looking at a new set of boots for the S3....

Whats folks oppinions on

Yoko Prada`s http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4x-225-40-18-Z...1%7C240%3A1308

Or Toyo Proxes http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4x-225-40-18-Z...1%7C240%3A1308

Dont knowmuch about either, the Yokos look like a cut slick??? Are they,or is that just there tread pattern?? Plus Yokos of old were good tyres,as they were soooooooooo soft a compound,is that the case with them still?? I wana see abit more than 4000miles to a set of tyres.....

yokos are made from a soft rubber, good for keeping you on the road, but bad for miles. never rated toyo. isnt there a new goodyear tyre to superseed the eagle f1?

I have eagle F1 gsd3 and can't wait for them to wear out, tried them three times now, as everyone raves about them, still think they are shit.
I have used TOYO proxes T1S and T1R, thr R version was a later version with stiffer edges of tread to counter wear problems but seemed to make the problem worse.
Toyo's very good tyre got 16,000 out of T1S(195/50x15) but only 6,000 out of T1R, same tyre same car, the S was defo better, didn't find them that great in the wet but dry was really good, comfy tyre and quiet too.
When I get my 17" going to try assymetric eagles f1 but till then will stick with my fave Uniroyal Rainsport.

Dont like F1's...find them average, have them at the mo

I wouldnt use Toyo's again either...found them quite and grippy but with a flexy sidewall......found them very 'squirmy' not bad but not amazing.

i used to use proxes but they used to wear out quick, they do grip well when its dry but thought they were pants in the wet, but far to soft. now got f1's and i think there the bollocks. dont really rate yoko's imo dont think they grip to well and wear out quickly

i've got some budget tyres on the mondeo that i didn't really rate in the dry, but they are great in the wet, event is the only name i can see in the pouring rain

i had some fulda's that were great in the dry and appaling in the wet

nankangs were crap wet or dry until they were scrubed in, and then they were ok in the dry and ok in the wet

best tyres i used were some perelli pzero's, but i'm not sure they are still about or not, asymetric, they were great in the wet and hard wearing as well
