... and now the damn thing wont start!
2.5 di transit.
Tried removing the water trap off the fuel filter and got a bit out, didn't want to let it run for too long as i didn't have owt to catch it in, also tried slackening the bleed nipple on the side of the pump, turned it over and got a bit out, but not much, tightened it up but still no joy, any tricks to try?
I've left the damn thing where it is and got a lift back!
guess i'm walking to work tomorrow
remove the fuel filter and soak it in diesel also depending on what filter housing you have try filling it with diesel too - refit fuel filter and try again
the last one i did was a T plate,i cracked the injector pipes and turned it over untill fuel was there.tightened them backup and still ended up bumping it i went straightaway though.
good luck mate, i've had a couple of brand new transits in our workshop that have run out of fuel, it can be a right pain in the arse.
the last one we had in had four sets of mechanics in from the ford dealership trying to bleed it, iirc they used 3 battery booster packs one after the other cranking it over with the injector pipes off the injectors to get the air out the system and start it.(for some reason they wouldn't let us see exactly what they were doing)
you need to fill the filter with diesel to the top then crack open the injectors and turn it over, will deffo need a jump pack, keep topping up the filter .took me nearly half a day to do my one,it was a right fuckin twat .
hope you get it sorted soon
