I have not had a single email today informing me of topic replys and PM's?

Anyone else had this problem ??

My email account is working and my profile settings are correct.

 

I too have noticed this, though't something was up?

 

im not getting em either ???

 

I get them just seem to be about 10 hours late

 

Not the first time this has happened on passion, the clock hasn't quite got all it's marbles on here at the best of times.
I have certainly had topic reply notifications from here some days later and gone back to find I have already read it

 

Well. Pet and i have checked it out thoroughly and they all leave perfectly on time and get delivered no problem. Incidentally, why do you say this clock has issues?

You will find its the ISP's at fault and the reason being, is they treat a lot of notifications as Spam in their automatic filters and so they can literally be lost or quing up in your ISP's spam folder.

One thing to also check is that you are always check the "Notify me when a reply is posted" button when you do a quick reply or it cancels any earlier request you made

My own e-Mail address is served by the same system and that also never has any issues whatsoever...

 

the display time on the post you made stu is 1 hour in front ???

Yeah, i haven't had a reply email all day and i have posted quite a few times and read the repiles!

 

Dunno wot's going on but nothing in my spam folder and all the right options are selected....

 

As above, nothing in the spam filter, nothing in the inbox, and nothing in auto deleted files. It only started yesterday too ? Been fine up until then

the time has to be set up in your profile, mates. The BB time has to be the SERVERS time, as obviously, many countries are using this BB, and i can't set up the BB dates for everyone on earth

 

Lets do an easy test:

Time is 14:15 and il do a topic reply notification tick now.......

 

Pet, by time I assume you mean "Time Zone" ? I have it set at GMT, that is correct is it not? seems to be as the board time is then correct What else is wrong?

There you go folks.. i recieved it almost immidiately, bearing in mind i had to notice i had a reply and then pull my e-mail and copy n paste it to a reply.

The problem is at your ends

 

Just got 42 emails from passionford !!!
and these were NOT queued as spam or by my ISP

 

I fail to see how the server can leave "Isolated" peeps E-mails and send em all together mate, you know yourself being an inteligent chap that it doesnt differentiate between me or you.. it just sends when someone is replying to a topic, a mail to everyone in its database who asked for one....

As proven by me just now....

any of my email accounts (which were working ok all the time) and have NOT
changed any passionford settings then all of a sudden I get 42 all from the same
place ??

Still its working now and thats all that really matters

 

Very odd indeed

 

Its been an age old problem since day one and in many many posts since then folk have checked with thier ISP and they have been qued there by automed software that retains E-mails sent in mass.... it naturally looks like spam you see..

So with a busy forum like PF, it has automatically sent over 24000 e-mails since friday 12pm according to the logs

So say your ISP gets 24000 e-mails from PF.com.. what would you think to em? I think they go through some mail address checking filter at some point before release, as i recall being told by BT

I think its BT's big black hole again.....

 

The real problem, are scumbag companies firing bollox E-Mails everywhere and blocking up our channels required for legitimate mails

 

Well, Secs, is your email account you have configured for PF a BT account? As mine is and I have had nothing since friday? fook knows cant remember! Maybe it is BT, is everyone who is having problems using BT? (Bearing in mind ppl are saying they are getting some through and I have had nothing still) and I have logged in to my webmail with BT and they are not in the spam folder, I have trained it not to dump them there anymore

 

Interesting thought, as im not pulling mine on BT and mine works

Wa hey, all of todays has just come though.....still no sign of the weekends and friday's? (Not that I am worried I would rather not see them now, but I guess they will come in eventually - NTL eh? clearly not a BT prob then
