You will find its the ISP's at fault and the reason being, is they treat a lot of notifications as Spam in their automatic filters and so they can literally be lost or quing up in your ISP's spam folder.

One thing to also check is that you are always check the "Notify me when a reply is posted" button when you do a quick reply or it cancels any earlier request you made

My own e-Mail address is served by the same system and that also never has any issues whatsoever...
