My escort is a big turbo homologation model, when you enter the details into main dealer computers for parts, it comes up with " additional Northen ireland features " any one have a clue what this means?
other than bullet proof glass and run flat tyres

may be stupid but does it have ABS? as one thing i noticed on the theory test now is that the ABS questions are not applicable to NI, so does this mean that cars in NI dont have abs?

Your lucky my car dont even come up on ford microcat!! Im from northern ireland mine just says wanker features
The MOT over here is far srticter than in any test station in England, we have offical goverment funded stations with only a few in each county. They dont sell services so usually you get an honest MOT. The brake test here alone fails 90% of cars put through it, it checks the braking power and brake balance (usually imbalance lol) and is logged by computer. This is no over riding the computer to allow it to pass either.
To answer your question, it may just mean your car was registered here, cause my RS Turbo has on its log book, import from England. It was pre registered over there and the dealer got it from there. I was there when my uncle bought this car new in 1989 so know its nothing dodgy and it has been in the family circle and a friends since it was bought. Yours could be something along these lines.

Every RHD Escort cos comes up with this is it`s nothing to do with them being registered in Northen ireland.
Have not a clue what it means but it`s nothing to worry about as they all have it listed on microcat.
