Default 4x4 intercooler

thanks to carlohe is sending me one tommorrow foc (bar postage)at present i run a 2wd one, realistically on a road car what would you say the limit is before they are just not suitable because act's are just stupid high all the time?I am going for the stage 4 greys route so hope 400bhp is realistic for one as i would like to not go rs500 style as the 3dr or mine has a nice scoop to fill the water rad with nice air so i would guess losing that and putting another rad infront will cut down the efficiency of the water temps. If its not got a high limit would adding a charge cooler help for 400bhp?

please i want you all to say 400bhp and a 4x4 cooler is adequate for road use

4x4 ic very good peice of kit loads bigger than the 2wd one, which is too small for anything other than standard. It might be that a 4x4 ic is as good as a rs500 one. i think it was a feature in fast car years ago done by paul bailey, he tested a tuned saff with a 4x4 and a an rs500 cooler, there was nothing in it, the rs500 one presented a bigger surface area but the 4x4 is deeper, at the end of the day that extra slot on the rs500 bumper is there for a reason, to maximise airflow, the sapphire doesnt have loads of space for air to get in the front of the car.

500 cooler sits in front of rad are you saying the rad gets no air through it then ?

it isnt adequate, you will never make the power on one, charge temps will go through the roof at a held 2 bar

an rs500 style cooler and imo an aftermarket alloy rad for high 300's

I wouldn't use a 4x4 intercooler past 300bhp.
