Depending on your situation you should be able to get legal aid. Also when you win in court you claim costs, although if you have legal aid you can only apply for travel expence and not loss of earnings for days off and so on, travel is 25p per mile afaik.
By the sounds of it I doubt you will get a summons.

myself and some other guy were having a blast down a dually when i was at uni - the cunt crashed into the central reservation approaching a roundabout as he coundnt drive for shit and also couldnt control his Ford Ka under braking we rolled the windows down, pointed and laughed turned out he was an off duty copper and still in uniform as he has just finished

we quieted down a bit as he walked back to his car and then called him a cunt, laughed and drove off

now i woulod not do that again now that im wiser.......

2 years yeh I know lol ages but when I saw him I was gob smacked and thought I know that car pmsl

strange thing was he knew it was me and tried avoiding me I think once he realised.

pulled onto the same dual track again and there he is in front of me (flash back lol) and again no one in front of him and again he sits in the out side lane!! when he eventualy pulled into the left lane I also did and then I see him looking into his rear veiw realising who I am.

I follwoed him off the dual track onto the a38 and pulled along side him, again he had his wife in the car and I looked strate into his car and he wouldnt make eye contact lol I put his reg in my phone them pulled into a turning lane.

He knows I've got him lol

Have ben to the police station and they managed to dig out the details from the original complaint I made and have taken the new details I have added.

They said theres a shelf life on offences though so may not be able to do alot about this now but have said at the very least they will be attending his home and making him aware they know of his actions.

They're going to be calling me later on.

Slightly gutted now, received a phone call from the police and say they aren't able to take it any further now with regards direct action due to the time lapsing.

They are going to add his details and car etc to there system encase another situation happens but thats all they can do at present, I shouldnt have ecpected more really but got a bit chuffed when I found him and assumed some thing at least could be done.

Tepted to put his reg over the web pmsl as its private one my do an ebay add for it saying owners thinks hes a plod pmsl thinking out loud now lol

Yeah i would hazard a guess it will be. Don't get me wrong it would be great to see him get the book thrown at him i guess it will be hard to prove. He may just say you jumped to the conclusion he was a cop and he played along as he felt threatened or something plus it doesn't seem he done anything with the info you gave him.

I did make a referance to crime watch and the fact all of the crimes featured are years ago but knew I would be coming across to sarcastic if I pushed the point lol

If you could find his address send him a threatening letter regarding the incident from some made up organisation like "civil rights for citizens" saying that you're taking on a case in the European court regarding people who have impersonated police officers and the effect it has had on peoples lives,lay it on real thick,tell him he's required too attend a civil hearing in some made up address many miles from where he lives and failiure to do so will result in him being prosecuted crimnally etc etc.fuck it,shove a payg mobile number on the letter and a phone number of a redundant business,should the idiot bother to check.as far as I'm concerned even if it just shits him up a bit let him feel like he's made you feel for a few months,cunt!!!
