What do you mean by 'Stage 1' Gearbox??

I blew my first standard 'box up when the car was a mere 170odd bhp. It blew the diff to pieces, but that was more than likely just because it was old etc.

I would say that a Standard 'box is good up to 200ish bhp. Really hard to say though.

I, like many others on here, have had many gearboxes now. I am on number 9.

I use a 'box that we built ourselves!! LOL. Secret spec!!

All of mine have been good quality rebuilt 'boxes, none were second hand.

I've got a CTS BErnie stage one in my ERST. I'm sticking 248bhp through it and give it a fair amount of stick. So far I've had no problems.

Go to www.gearboxman.co.uk and discuss options with Bernie. He's a top bloke

The only good thing about the diesel box is that they are cheap. Saying that however Bernies boxes don't break the bank

AHHH the old question..
well you know i love em.. (mainly cos there cheap as fuck! ) last just as well as a standard RST box but there is no LSD and it has a slightly longer gear ratio...
which means slightly slower 0-60 speed (apparently ) but higher top speed
