how can i check if a car is taxed

im buying a car and ive hpi checked it and nothing is coming back no details on the car atall,could this be because it had a private plate?? regs is bf53 gyy thanks

Use www.mycarcheck.com a hell of lot cheaper than HPI at less than 4 quid.
It just doesn't offer you the guarantees HPI does.
After all, these places are only as good as the information they get.
Supposedly my RS2000 had 81K on the clock in January (reported by a local dealer) their system was updated on 09th August to say it only had 78K and I brought it on the 14th August with....... you guessed it 81K.
I now have the joyous task of trying to get them to update the records so its correct in case I ever decide to sell it.
