Ok - all sounds relatively cool to a novice but how good are these really?
I understand they're cheap btu they seem to do the job (apart from the
90s name! )
any info from people who actually know what they're talking about gratefully received..

JesseT should be able to tell you, he has built and installed them on his S2 Orion. Sounds a very good system if you have the skill (and guts) to go through with it.

Its not a bad system, but not at the cutting edge of hardware!!!
Seems to have a fairly old processor etc, but the software updates for it are great, some really ncie features in there now, however you really need to be quiet technically minded to assemble it, program it, make a loom, calibrate sensors, select injector resistors etc depeing on impedance and get it running/mapped.
Quality little project.....bear in mind though the map sensor is internal and is only capable of reading to 20psi.
Garage19 and JesseT both use it.....

Thanks for the advice folks... unfortunately, much as i'd like to give it a go, in my current position i'm not in a situation to use somethign like that unless there is a specialist who can do the specs and mapping for me ![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
maybe once i have my car (and my head!) a bit more sorted i'l have a crack!!

imho its the system you go for for one of 2 reasons.
1) you cant afford a "proper" ECU
2) you want to teach yourself and experiment with this kind of thing, it's all very involved and deeply satisfying when you acheive your goal
it has advantages (ie price) and disadvantages (ie features)
