Default Major emotional moment!

Hi all, well, I posted a few days ago saying about how I was at the train crash on Saturday with the Fire Brigade and I thought that I'd got over it with no waterworks at all. Then, there I am watching the survivors on the news and there she is, the first lady I encountered at the scene in a hospital bed. She starts going on about it and then says how she wanted to thank a Paramedic and an off duty Fireman for helping her in the wreckage.( I was on duty, but as I'm a trained Ambulance tech. too I had to explain that to her and she must of got confused as I was telling her about everything)
I was totally overcome and burst into tears that I had a feeling would come out soon, happy tears though, which is hard for a 15 stone 6'3" ex squaddie to admit.
That is a major point in my life that I will never forget,I spose some of may of had these feelings before at the birth of your kids etc,Isn't it awesome(My Dad calls it the "Rich Tapestry of life")
Thanks again all for letting me share my feelings with you all over the last few days aswell.
Cheers all,
Andy

Huge respect mate, I dont think many, if any of us can relate to what youve been through, but wow, huge respect and thanks to people like you for doing the jobs you do....we sometimes just take it for granted when we need help, that someone comes along, all to easy to forget these poeple who save our bacon are real people themselves.

Cheers all, I am v emotional tonight, the wife is out tonight so it's all quiet at home and it's wierd, I know when people say "I was just doing my job" but it's true, you are , and if I wasn't there then someone else would be, You shut down and go into work mode, it's wierd and I treated it like an exercise, I love my job to bits, I would deffo stay in it if I won the lottery aswell, but thankyou all for your kind words over the last few days.
I am so devasted for the familes of the passed away at the crash at the weekend, my deppest deepest sympathies go out to you all,
Cheers again lads and lasses, it helps me and others who may of been through simaler probs,
Andy

Nice one mate, and never be ashemd to show your feelings!!!!! i gotta say i am an emtional person But i suppose its ok to be like that, and certain events in your life does change you. The biggest in my life was losing my dad suddenly a year ago and i can get quite upset etc thinking about it but at the end of the day mate its certainly better to express your feelings than keeping them botteled up as that can lead to untold probs!!

I think it is hard for a man to show his emotions at times though but i think thats the society we live in, Stiffer up lip and all that!?

Rhys, very sorry to hear that Fella, I 'spose at the time we all think "WHY!" at sad times, the term "The Rich Tapestry of life " allways springs to mind when I have sad times, I just think that maybe there's a point to it all and we'll discover that reason why in the next world, shit man, I'm getting well deep.
