where does the drive for the speedo come from,does it come off the gearbox or 1 of the drive shaft outputs on the sump,the reason i ask is because im looking for a 4x4 sump and noticed what looks like a speedo drive output in the pics

It actually comes off a bolt-on section which attaches to the sump on the passenger side. The speedo drive picks up from this unit via an intermediate shaft from the front diff and then the cable and VSS come from that. The passenger driveshaft then connects into the intermediate unit as if it was a normal diff casing.

I have a spare one in the garage should you wish that I can show you if required?

(that sounds very complicated, but in reality is very simple )

cossies didnt have the vss only other model 4wd sierras did

no they didnt but theyre all the same put 1 in mine for the autronic. i have one also if you get stuck
