jim my motor has got BMW service history THEN when i bought it i had OTHER garages do all the work, no recepts for that as most of it was FOC work as favors

list of parts ive changed,

bushes all round,
clutch
steering rack
lower arms
cooil pack
cat
lamda sensor
maybe more, got most of the parts FOC from work from suppliers

only failed MOT on emmisons hence the new parts to solve it

just cause i dont wash cars dont mean i never look after them

no the rear trailing arm bushes seemed to be failing, then a few laps of the ring and they did fail on hard corners

couldnt change the bushes 3 days before i was to leave so had to deal with it

ALL cars have issues, even yours im sure !

just some people refit second hand shite, others change for new

gues which ones then fail more

There is a fairly tasty 328 (low miles and good nick) on the trader at the moment for 795, which given that most people advertise expecting to get haggled and the fact cars arent selling well at the moment, we can probably get for 600 odd, and thats the bigger engine.

On the other hand, at least you've done a few of the more common fixes on yours, so I wouldnt rule it out if it was cheap.

Much room to move on yours for price?

chip this is my budget track toy have you not considered one of these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWN:IT&ih=018

200bhp same as the 328

bullet proof reliabilty, rwd, plenty of room, manual

however its taken a good few months to find a 280 manual 99% of them are autos but are awesome cars for the money, and they go real well

Loving that, and certainly different, but harder to find parts for than the BMW I would imagine, in terms of cheap suspension kits that work well etc?

suspension is easy to get hold of, i ve got a set of merc 350-500sl 4 pot calipers and discs for an awesome budget upgrade. remove the cats and you have an awesome reliable motor that with a decent driver behind the wheel would be able to hold its own, parts are cheap as well

though it does help if your brother works for a merc main dealer :P

just find a supplier (links on website) and ask for 01 pads to suit AP 4 pots.

iirc i paid 150 for a pair of front pads for mine. those pads have lasted about a year inc. 5(ish) trackdays

We dont want a car that needs loads of work, we want a car that is compelte and reliable and drives about, and ALL we have to do to it is some trackday prep like stripping it out, we dont want to be doing shell rebuilds etc.

jim the only thing i question with some other brake companys is the come back

my mintex are eating my discs, spoke to dave at TMD who sent me another set FOC also offered to send a set of discs,,, never took them due to me using another set of rotors

also the warranty on anything i get is generally MUCH better than anything you could imagine due to the "buy out" procedure that i dealt with ( )

i aint offering these for sale for everyone, this is just a " mates only" deal

wont be posting anywhere and will just be for people who looked after me in the past, eg: JB's little (only just a bit mind pmsl) showed me how to take out a engine and also took one out from me a few years ago so i class that as someone whos helped me out

also ive chip has been ok with a few mates of mine ect

What do you mean by sampler ?? And I don't know which AP 4pots I have !! Apart from their old !!

Don't the different models of 4 pots take different style pads ??

FUCK ME, 150 for pads !!!

i got a set for rick for 45 quid and that also included the price of me posting them to him ( actually i still aint sent him my bank details so technically i still own then pmsl )

think i should have paied 120ish for pads and discs for my car, but the discs where 14 quid for a pair ( fucking put the price up the bastards)

(mine are 1155 pads though, the 1166's where a 6 week wait to be made )

i had NO fade at the ring at all, and the brakes on my car are the nuts,, apart from they are eating my cheep discs pmsl

jb ill find what fitmet the pad number is for the vehicle and then just ask some supplyer for that pad in that compound eg: can i have brakes for a fiat coupe in 01 compound rather than " can i have some pads for my AP's for a saph cossie

as you will either get " i need you to get me a part number" or " sorry mate dont have em listed, just lucus calipers" or even worse,, supply you some for a 2wd cossie

1155 get my vote if they are cheap, Ive always found them to be good pads.

Normal pads on the E30 me and mongo had and it was doing its brakes after a couple of laps of bedford, switched to 1155 and suddenly it could do a couple of laps of the ring without fade, amazing difference!

ginge, 150 is nothing, the first set i bought off mike R were about 250 iirc plus discs were about £200+ EACH
those discs are AWESOME tho... they're about 1mm worn!!!! and they get proper abuse!!!!!!

i've just found a discs/pad compound that WORKS and appears to be 100% reliable and withstand a lot of abuse. no more warped discs etc. etc. so i'm gonna stick to it and reccomend others to look at going the same route

god kows how many sets of discs/pads i warped before finding these puppies dozens!

Yeah he is a good lad !!

Well drinks & food is worth more than money to my brother so no wonder he was happy !! the amount of times he's helped me out is untrue !! whinged every second but couldn't be without him if I'm honest !!

I think I might of got that part number wrong it MDB12921155 got it from the Hi-Spec site http://www.hispecbrake.co.uk/pads.htm I got the Greenstuff from there & they did tell me they was rubbish for trackdays !! but cheapest so they got my vote !!
