http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/produc...328.32.0049.03

between 200-300 for a set of replacement rotors by the looks of it from demon theives (you can reuse the bells)

pads it says "ring for application"

About this product
Year after year, Performance Friction Brakes win more championships worldwide than any other brand. The secret is we engineer the bite, torque, and release of our pads to interact and give drivers superior control, the lowest lap times, unrivaledfad resistance. Our sole aim is to make the absolute best brakes on the market, No compromises, Performance Friction continues to be the world leader in motorsport brake technology.

97 Compound

Less initial bite and average torque than 01. It has great modulation, a very flat torque curve, and enhanced release characterisitcs. With the lowest wear of any PFC compound, 97 is considered PFCs endurance compound. Recommended for applications that demand excellent wear and modulation ie Tarmac/Gravel.

01 Compound

High initial bite, and torque, with very little torque rise with temperature. Less torque scatter at the end of the stop for improved modulation with low wear. Winner of more World and National Championships annually than any other brake pad on the market. Recommended for wide variety of Tarmac/Gravel applications.

05 Compound

05 compound highest initial bite and highest average torque of any compound on the market. There is virtually no torque rise with temperature. Release and modulation characteristics are second to none with wear slightly better than 01. Recommended for high grip, high down force, and serve duty applications ie tarmac.

i've just found a discs/pad compound that WORKS and appears to be 100% reliable and withstand a lot of abuse. no more warped discs etc. etc. so i'm gonna stick to it and reccomend others to look at going the same route

god kows how many sets of discs/pads i warped before finding these puppies dozens!

I have your invoice here and you paid £150 for the 97 pads from me !

JB,
If you want some REALLY good pads to stop your car, then they will cost you £115....

the trick is not to be in a hurry to buy anything and just keep your collective eyes peeled for the right car at the right money. will be fun if you make it happen though. i am a 1/3 owner of a 2wd sapph that we use as a 'ring taxi' - could be making it's way to england at some time

Nick, no rush at all, our first outing in it is hopefully going to be 29th december, so no point rushing out and getting anything just yet, as we'll only have it sat there running out of tax and mot.

I have an idea:

Basically from what you are saying, Jim already owns the perfect car, so if Chip and Rich both put £750 each into it, they can own a share in the car that they already treat like theirs anyway .

This would have several benefits:
1. The car is already there.
2. The car is already taxed and insured.
3. The car is already correctly modified.
4. Jim won't get into any further financial difficulty, as he won't have to put any extra money to it.
5. The £1500 that Chip and Rich put into can go into spares (extra wheels / tyres) / consumables and back-up money in case anything goes wrong.

Everyone's a winner .

but mike that car stands jim in around 10k dont it

what happens when its sold, does he have to give a portion of the car bark or do they loose there 1500 quid, who then pays for the new engine, box, diff, RUST issues ?

thats only a good idea IF its just used as that,,,, but then again IMO part owning a car with people you DONT really know( which in honesty does anyone on here REALLY know each other ?)

getting a cheep shitter just for track seems the best bet IMO

oh and more important, if it gets binned on track where does jim stand then, hes gonna be down a car he uses for work ect

its totally different when people bin a cheepo car, all put 500 quid in each and get a car FOR the track, having a 5k motor with 1500 quid on parts means jims gonna get in even more debt ( i dread to think what sort of debt hes in now knowing jim )

Ginge,
They're CURRENTLY using it like this, so what's the difference, other than they will at least contribute to the running costs the way I suggested . If anything goes wrong, they split three ways, as normal road use is NOT going to contribute to any issues (as in the to and from work mileage that Jim does).

In most syndicates that I know, they play by big boys rules, as in the one who bins it has to pay for it to be fixed.

I'm sure I have seen Jim put a value on his car of £3k ish, however, next you'll be saying his Sapphire that he pumped £30k into was worth more than the £1500 he sold it for?

If it REALLY goes tits up, then if Jim can afford to put in money now, he could certainly afford a shitter to get him out of a muddle at a later date . I often run round in a shitty 170,000 mile Astra diesel estate*, I don't care what car I have to get to and from work in (*which proves I'm not proud ) .

mike its different letting people use you car when your there instead of letting people have free run of the car

im just thinking of jim here, hes OBV proud of hes car,,,, and now must be worried about the wear of hes car and the bills that could come of it

dont get me wrong i loan my scoobie out to 3 mates of mine, aint bothered about them using it as i know them really well and know they aint as harsh on the car as me PLUS i get to borrow there cars when i want

just internet mates aint always the same thing, how many times do you see people just fall of the radar or discover there past is different to how then come across on here

also he MAY value hes car at 3k, but he aint gonna get one to that spec for 3k should it get binned otherwise he would have bought another when hes engine died and broke hes for 3k

just like my impreza, i value it at 3k, but i aint gonna get the same car for that at all without looking about at alot of shitters costing even more money and time in the long run

The idea is that they would ALWAYS be together at the track days - not randomly lending it out .

I couldn't give a fuck about perceived public image etc, you should see what I wear to work etc - skanky track-suit bottoms, old T-shirts etc - I look like a young version of Tony Mannock (without the pikey bum-bag) .

im REALLY REALLY surprised you cannnot see the difference

would you give somes car 10/10th's that had let you do 10 laps on a track day

would you give a part owned car bought specifically for track days 10/10th's

one is a yes and one is a no that the difference, atm they all treat jims car with a small bit of respect and this is not my car.

The only reason I suggested what I did is because of the three people involved. Both Chip and Rich are not your usual louts - both have mechanical respect and are the sort of people I could actually see this working for. It's not for everyone, and it was only a suggestion, as it did seem to be a reasonably logical solution to me (given all the circumstances at the moment).

In my mind, I would prefer to be on track with people that HAVE to have some self control etc, than someone that doesn't give a fuck about the consequences of their actions .

i tend to have a certain min that i wont do before i leave the house, i even have 2 spare sets of clothes in the boot of my car AND shoes just incase i either get some mark on them at work, dont feel fresh OR get a call from a mate about a last min night out

nothing worse than being somewhere and meeting someone you aint seen for a while when you look like a tramp

but thats cause when i used to drive about in shtty cars people all thought of me as someone whos not got a job and stuggling to get by in life

i remember going to a funeral in a shitty escort cabrio and people i grew up with all owning cars on finance telling me about how to get a loan/finance to help my situation

then telling them i got a sierra cossie,,,,,, and them saying " yeah ok a sierra is a bigger car but something like a focus 1.6 like mine, bit of poke to it these new cars have ect"

thats why i bought the BMW,,, just to shut the cunts up even though it was worth 1500 quid they thought i got the cunt on finance the tossers

oh and cause i stopped wearing all my gold they assumed i had pawned them,,,, the image i seem to get from people is fucking anoying and it was down to me not caring about how i looked, wearing 100 quid jeans covered in oil so my mates thought they was fake ffs

image is sometimes needed

And you see that as a bad thing?

It's not a race, so those few hundreths of a second gained per lap from the removal of this self control is hardly going to mean the difference between winning and losing the F1 championship .

It's JUST for fun .

exactly. surely you can see that mike?

unless your driving like a faggot, something is fairly likely to happen at some point to damage it.

they must be planning to drive it fairly hard if they care that its rwd/

Image is only needed if you have no feeling of self worth or you lack the minerals to just be yourself . All my real friends know what I am like, and me dressing up wouldn't change that . The people you are talking about are not friends, just people you "know". I couldn't give a flying fuck about what people I "know" think, as long as my friends / family love me for who I am (not a perceived image), then that is all I need to be happy .

mate there are people who i would have trusted with ANYTHING before in life that AINT been as close as i thought they was

just cause at the brief moment you know them dont mean thats how they actually are

theres only 1 person i trust with anything, we have no issues with money though to each other, spend on each other, are like brothers tbh rather than mates, when i got nicked a few weeks ago he dropped hes car off to mine and got a cab to work so i had a car when i come out the nick and could sort out getting my car back ect

even Xrt-Si is a close mate of mine, we trust each other with alot too but again we are close in alot of ways more than just internet and cars

just seems like a potential recipe for a loosing mates,,,, oh and mike ive loaned people i dont like before money so they DONT call me and leave me alone just to get them out of my life as most people in life DONT have self respect

you still dont get it do you

wow this is hard

there not wanting to remove the self control that will then make them drive like cunts, they dont want to come off the track and for ppl to say you bunch of tits.

but you can take a car to close to its limits without removing self control, the problem is and this is the thing i expected you to get when its someone elses car you also give a eliment of unknown so drive instead of driving at 90% of the cars cap (still inside the selfcontrol) you drive at 80%

by getting a track car they all own they can go out without the worrie of if i crash this its someone else's car

wow is it that hard to understand

No, not at all, but is it hard for YOU to understand that I would rather be sharing a track with someone who has that bit of extra self control at the back of their mind because the car is theirs / someone elses, rather than a "fuck it, it only cost me £750 attitude" .

mike guess its different if you come from a poor back ground maybe

theres NOTHING worse than people thinking you never made anything of your life just cause you dont look good

i personally have no debts apart from 1 loan for windows and a morgage, but having someone living at home with mummy AND another person whos got a housing assosiation property talking to you like your the poor friend is TERRIBLE, never bothered me before that,,, ask anyone whos met me pmsl

even my uncle once was telling me about how i should save up to buy a house with a garden like my cousins have just cause i live in a flat, ITS FUCKING ANOYING I TELL YOU

Why are so worried about what other people think of you?

mike i recon theres MORE chance of binning it if its a 3 way split track car than if its a " its my mates car"

personally i worry about binning my impreza, but i also understand it MIGHT happen, i was offered to take jims car round the ring as i let him drive mine, i refused as its not as much fun driving someone elses car, same as i offered my impreza to dave sharrick when he binned hes cossie, he refused cause he didnt wanna worry about driving someone elses car

JC's lot have a few cars they enjoy, they all chip in and that works well but the liverpool lot are a VERY close bunch of lads, alot closer than i recon jim, chip and rich are IMO

but i could be wrong

tbh im not,,, i do ok in life, i dont NEED anything, me and the missus are comfortable and will ALWAYS be comfortable, not rich but do ok

JUST i seem to get the stigma cause i got a kid as either a person who spends what he cant afford,,,,,, or just general bad image of me

though i dont care what people who DONT know me think,,,, though i REALLY got the hump when porkie said what i could and couldnt afford for some reason

guess its cause im a kid from a council estate perhaps

As I said, if you didn't know me, you would think I was a tramp in my work clothes . I honestly couldn't give a flying fuck - I even turned up to the RSOC meet straight from work in my sexy shorts and I dirty T-shirt and got the absolute piss ripped out of me by Christian (he even took a photo and posted it on PF thinking it would worry me ) - I couldn't give a fuck . What does it mean to me if someone I sort of "know" (as in the peeps on PF etc) look down on me in any way from their own "perceived" image of me - NOTHING .
