Default Toad AI606

Do these have full closure as standard or is it an optional extra?

If i remember correctly, when i had mine fitted to my sapphire,it was a case of just wiring it up to the existing window boxes which were fitted with previous alarm.

They dont come with it as standard but you can add them as an option.

Just about to replace my old AI600 with a AI606 as mines a bit old and I dont think its been fitted that well.

AI606 is a bloody good alarm imo. Ive had them fitted to four cars now and can honestly say theyve all been good as gold!!

The one Clifford ive had was crap in comparison.

I have a Ai606. I added onto it dual stage proxy, 2 stage body wheel impact, glass break, ultrasonics, remote start and pager system. you can have global closure but didn't really want it. What's wrong with putting the windows up in the car?

The one addon i did buy which is brilliant is the text alert. It send you a text if The car is moved, low battery or power cut,you can also track it within 100 yds if nicked.
I use to push my car out of garage without turning off sometimes and it would text me before i got it fully out.

My pager system I think works over 500m or something. Pretty good range if you are around. Only problem is damn thing responds to proxy sensors so sometimes I arm the alarm and all the snesors and just turn off the proxys (feature on Toad alarms: can arm which sensors you want and disarm ones you don't want. Clifford you either arm the whole lot or disarm the whole lot). It responds to if you tamper with the glass, detecs and impact on body or wheel and obviously if the alarm goes off. If it gives me a normal alert like a proxy I tend to ignore it unless it repeatedly goes off in which case someone is hanging around my car. If the alarm goes off though it emits a different tone in which case I will be heading towards my car like a shot!

Toad are ace IMO, fitted loads of these, yet ot have a genuine fault.
IMO the ai600 is better than the later ai606, but only because of a change in thatcham criteria where all alarms now have to drop out of service/valet mode when ignition is switched on, the old ai600 would stay indefinitely until you repressed the buttons, apart from that still ace though.
I've added one touch(down) to all me cossie windows as well using 4x mondy relays, good mod.

Its the Anti Hijack system, it should only work with both doors closed and the ignition on, so I reckon your passenger door switch is faulty!

That doesn't sound right, means it can lock your keys in the ignition with you not there!

If mine is in valet mode with the doors unclocked and you remote start it, it will lock the doors like it should and also if in valet mode and you turn on ignition, disarm immobilizer, start engine, doors will lock again without even moving because it's been in valet mode.

I edited the top bit to ask another question as i think it was just me pressing the wrong button that made it do what it did.

So are my sensors things in the right position?(see my edited post)

They should be the ultrasonic sensors, both should be facing in to the car, towards the rear window

Oh and yes if you press either the lock / unlock button whilst the ignition is on it will lock / unlock the doors.

Make sure you keep a close eye on the door switches as they corode up after a while, when they do this the autolock function can activate as it doesn't recognise an opened door, so if you've just put your keys on the seat etc and are not in it, it will lock your keys in if autolock enabled!!

funnily enough the concept 300 i had on my golf never gave me any hassle, not even one false alarm.

And yes it was fully functioning before anyone says it

A friend of mine had a concept 300 on his fiesta rs. Had it for about 4 years and nothing ever went wrong. Perhaps its the G5 Clifford range thats a bit dodgy

Or the new generation of alarm installers either don't give a rat's arse about installing it properly or they just don't have a fucking clue how to install it.

I know of a dodgy Clifford G5 Concept 650 that plays up every single day: blows the siren randomly, arms the immobilizer after you've disarmed it, proxys not working any more etc etc.
