You was not much slower than the silver Escort Mike considering the weight difference. Dingy, I timed you the same as Nick. I never timed you once at 1.20. I think your best was 1.25.

So as Mike was quicker than you, you are not the king and neither is Mike. The king for me was the Silver Escort. However, I never got to time the Labbatts car which looked as quick.

Benni.

Try a wild stab in the dark you muppet . The word you are looking for is the second word in a popular Diana Ross song from the 80s .

Fair comment - but if you hear how much sh*t we give the King of Dono usually (and we're his mates), it makes a change to actually give him some positive feedback

I'm pleased, as that was the 1.4 bar "soggy boost" setting . Next year, it will be below 1.20, as I won't have the same road orientated suspension then , and the boost will be set to 1.8 bar, which just below the trigger point for the noise meters .
No idea mate ask Nick as he is the expert LOL

Your bonnet lifts and flaps about abit on the leading edge, or is that adaptive cooling for the engine?

Who gives a fook what time people got..... it's a public track day and nothing else. If you think you have a quick car and you are Ayton behind the wheel, take part in a proper competition timed event and then brag. A 350bhp Spec C was doing Dono in 1:18's at TunerGP... 2 years ago!!! Cars on track all at once, so no fooking excuse there!

Steve,
Cracking car mate, good to catch up again and exchange abuse.

You try driving a car that hits 104db static @ 4500rpm, on a 98db drive by noise restriction! Unfortunately I couldnt manage that either and only lasted just under 2 sessions before getting booted off. Even driving like a pansy, by keeping the revs down, only using 1bar of boost and removing as much ignition as I could.

Not only did it look slow, but it was slow...... the car was as flat as a witches tit. I couldnt even put my foot down enough to pull away from the RS Focus's in my session. The bonus side is that it made the drive home more enjoyable though!

95db exhaust system with CAT's will be on by the end of September, as this is causing me major issues for public track days every where except Snetterton.

Marco,

The noise restrictions did not bother me.... I knew about it and I knew my car wouldnt pass, but it's all about having a laugh and getting a day out in the car. The guy kept laughing everytime I pulled in and I said "Mate... I have another switch to flick", knowing that I had done everything I could of done during the very FIRST time I went out! He must of thought something was not right, when the three times I got pulled were all 101db.

In any case..... I only used 1/2 tank of juice for two sessions, so it was not all bad! Cheap day out really. roflol

What I did not realise, was how fooking slow the car is when driving like a granny with everything turned down. Never again!!! I was looking out for the Hovis lad on his push bike, to over take me at one stage!

Mike, we had two laps TOTALLY clear, its a real shame I didnt think to time them, but as you always said at the ring you didnt like being timed, I assumed that would apply there as well.

You were certainly going well, even if Peggy was noticeably suffering on pace with such castrated boost.

The planes are only there for a couple of seconds at a time though to be fair, where as apparently dingy's car is there for as long as a minute and a half per lap

roflol @ chip

Marco,
It's about the resonance frequency and not just what you perceive as being audibly loud.

pmsl you do make me laugh with some of your sayings i knew you was having a hard time out there
i was speaking to your mate who owns the focus ,

cars they are slow when theres no boost

like you said thats what it's all about enjoying the day ........i had great fun in the rs2000 mk5 good little car never let me down (except at croft when the rose joint tread let go), infact never broke down.... wish the new owner would bring it out on track he would love it ........it stops goes around corners well

the rs2000 on fuel was brilliant i could do a whole day with just a full tank and still go home on it lol..

i do miss it to be honest not being out there but ill have to wait untill my rwd escort is ready god knows when that will be done

Yeah.... he only hit 88db when noise checked at Snetterton the other month. The joke was obviously on me yesterday though. If I ever have to drive the car in that state of tune and in that manner never again, it will be too soon.

I even laughed with Dingy about his cock muffler on his tailpipe..... at least he didnt get chucked off!

Get the Cossie sorted and get it on track mate.
