check a valeo dealer, there were rumours they were going to make conversions to convert back to std flywheels for many cars.

it was suggested to me by a Ford tech, that he knows people now are haveing the old ones welded up,skimmed and ballanced as its such a common problem on Mondeo's.

In the intrest of safety,i am not sugesting you do the same.

Yeah i have seen some kits for the transit to convert it back to the old way but not for mine plus i've already got my clutch and can't take it back now.

I know omegas have the same engine but it would worry me if i got a vauxhall fly wheel and fitted it to my range rover just to get it all back together and found something wasn't quite right like a crank sensor pick up or the clutch not clearing.

just try a few places, partco will find a supplyer if there is one, but i KNOW that sachs dont do one yet

transits on 2.4 are ONLy made by one company and sold to others under licence

yeah valeo do do solid fly wheels for some cars that run dual mass!

they are the most stupid idea known to man, and a complete pain in the arse to do a clutch as you should do the flywheel at same time!

As said previously, try the likes of Partco. Ive done loads of dual mass flywheels at home now (done more than loads at work but being a main dealer its new gen parts only for those customers) and have always gotten them from my local partco motorfactors. So far they've all be LUK units....actualy the very same unit that Ford supply you with. Average price approx 50% less than main dealer prices.

Some companies offer a retro fit option but tbh ive never heard of some one welding up the dual mass jobby...bloody nutters

Seen this the other day when doing clutch and flywheel on a peugeot 307 hdi. went shouting the odds at the parts guy then some1 showed me a technical update book.

Pretty poor when manufacturers cant get it right and revert back to the old way.

Try german and swedish as after all its a bmw engine. Ive gotta do the flywheel on my 406 hdi as it propper fucked. Gsf reckon the dont make a single mmass flywheel for it but eurocar parts do. Diferent cluth to the dual mass though so you have to buy the lot.
Some people reckon they dont drive as smooth though with a singlemass conversion
