Default R&D gearboxes again

are they stronger than the bara/mullit/fixit gearbox?

since i cant find an FFD for 5500-6000£ i have been looking at the R&D box.

any input from the racers and users of the R&D box would be nice

In my opinion they are NOT as strong as a Bara.

But they are a dogbox at a reasonable amount and Andy Gallacher and Martoon used them on big power cars without too many problems...

Others have not been so lucky.

As Lee said they seem to be hit or miss , looking at the power and abuse Andy gives his shows what they can take though. Im still getting use to driving with mine but dont find it too bad for road use as mine has the longer ratios.

andys car doesnt weigh as much as a sapphire and i think he is on 4.4 diffs

my car will be on 3.9 diff and weigh as much as a whale.

want to use the car for street/strip/trackdays

i know martins old car ran over 500 bhp with one and his lasted but as said some hasnt been so lucky.

R&D rates the box to 500nm,thats the same as a 350-380 bhp cossie i think

save your money and find a cheapish ffd its not worth while the amount of time and money everytime the box is in and out !

but on the other hand break an ffd and pay the price . . its very big !

That would depend on the engine revs that you want to use...

Devon to London the hard bit for me mate, as I'd have to use a 3rd party for that! But I'm working on it!

I'll have a rate for London to Norway tomorrow.

I was kind of put off by all the R&D customerservice and parts lead time stories , but when the reverse went in my box was more than happy with the service and price from R&D and AG

If you still can't send it through, if you can put the .EXE file into a WinZip file it should go through no problems.
