Be very carefull the price is dropping fast, they were paying well over £150 a ton, a couple of my mates got £100 a ton today, but apparently it will be around £50-60 very soon.

I've towed them down, I remember a couple of years back up here they used to deduct off your total £5 quid for each tire you left with the scrap car!!!
If you can be arsed... cut the cats off, were getting £75 quid for a original cat, its worth saving scrap batteries aswell if your scrapping lots of cars...
I bought a 2 litre Mondeo last year just for the engine ( to go in the Orion / zetec turbo ) Payed £125 quid for the car. Had engine out, plus other bits and bobs, it weighed in at £90 quid, & I got £50 quid for the cat = Free engine plus other partsand I was in profit just...

Do well, I was taking to a guy yesterday and he said that the price of scrap has not gone down all year, infact its gone up £5 this month, he said the scrap yards are just being proper tight and clearing up.

I bought a Mondeo Diesel for £70 last year with 2 months MoT from auction, MoT'd it (passed straight off) and ran it around for 12 months and scrapped it in may got £150 for it. Went back to the auctions to get another cheapy and there isn't anything going for less than £200 these days.

price yesterday was £125 a tonne, its dropping, almost half the price it was 3 months ago,but then everybody rushed to scrap as much as possible so loads on the market, give it 6-8 months and it will rise again and then there will be so much less scrap about as so much has been cleared in this latest rush, farms, old cars, even quarries and factories around here are all clear of scrap now.no doubt it will be the same all over the country.

iam going to stockpile mine for a few months now and wait.
