Default anyone here using a veg oil kit on their diesel?

what veg do you run it on?

how much does it cost you to run?

How much did it cost to convert?

Do you refine your own fuel?

Mazda Bongo 2.5 TD Camper, run it on 50/50 pure rapeseed oil/diesel mix I purchased about 1500 litres at 56p per litre when it was cheap, get 3 miles per gallon less on veg oil as it runs hotter and so is less efficient, but cheap motoring at the moment and no mods required not even a fuel heater, been running it for almost a year on it with no problems but for a lumpy idle at times....and the van smells like a chippy...

Happy days...

I run my cavalier on this.If you use normal veg oil its a bit thick and runs alittle rough when cold, If you run rapeseed oil < Sunflower oil and a few others they are much thinner and can be used neat. when i used normal veg oil i slipped a little bit of parrafin in there and it thined it down a treat. Done thousands of kmies like this

Lucas fuel pumps dont take a liking to veg oil im reliably informed but bosch stuff is fine if your putting it in a new vehicle

Different engine, the 07 is the DHD/DDI (one of the other) whereas mine is the old rotary pump type - the engine changed along with the shape of the l200 in 2005/06

you dont need to convert anything so i beleave on any cars or vans it either run's with it or it doesnt

you only need to fit a heater in the fuel system so it can worm the cooking oil up and thin it out on winter days as it goes thick

Which vehicles can run on vegetable oil?
Just about any indirect injection diesel engine has the capacity to run on vegetable oil.

click on link below is that any good for you

Some are fitted with more suitable injector pumps than others. There's some doubt about the newer direct injection engines but I know that this is being looked into and hopefully we'll have amore complete list soon.

Most vans and lorries are fitted with suitable injector systems so these are particularly good to convert.

If in doubt please feel free to contact me and I'll advise.

Some examples of suitable cars (this list is not complete)…..

Audi 80
BMW 318Tds, 325Tds,525Tds, 725Tds
Citroen ZX,C15D, Xantia, Berlingo, Jumper
Fiat Palio, Scudo, Ulysee
Ford Escort
Mazda E2200
Mercedes 190D,200D.250D,330D. C200, C250, 208D, 308D, 408D,508D, VitoD, Kramer
Mitsubishi Pajero
Nissan Vanette, Serena
Peugeot 205, 306, 309, 405, 406, Boxer, Exeprt
Range Rover
Seat Toledo, Ibiza, Inca
Ssangyong Musso D
Toyota 4-runner, Land Cruiser, HiLux, Hi Ace
Vauxhall Astra, Serena
VW Polo, Golf II, Golf III, Jetta, Passatt, Vento, Transporter, Mulitvan, Caravelle, LT, Taro
Volvo 740D, 760D, 940D, 960D

Almost all of these would need to be fitted with BOSCH injector pumps (some have alternatives depending on the time of manufacture) - some of the Japanese cars have different makes but are still suitable.

If in doubt send details of your vehicle to me at tansley_uk@hotmail.com and I'll advise you.
