We didnt do any standing starts but going from rolling speed (3rd onwardsfor me) to 130 ish the R1 was way faster.
Once up and onto the motor way and above 140 my car was faster up to 172 onthe GPS where we slowed down.
We went for it tons of time from 60 ish and the turn of speed from the R1 was amazing but the higher the speeds the better the cossie went.
I was quite chuffed to say i can "do" and R1 above 140!

The bike was ridden flat out by an experinced rider(owned fast bikes for 10 years+) and he was flat out on the thing! It was snaking and lifting thru 2nd and 3rd gears!

thats because power to weight is more important for low down acceleration and all out power is more important for high speed stuff
so, absolutely no surprises there then

Ive owned my old gixxer now for 11yrs...altho its an antique compared to new bikes, its not standard and not slow. Im reconned to be a fast rider by my mates who come out with me (them on these ere new fangled things lol)...but there's no way I could keep up with me in my car when im on my bike going thru a long string of corners, if there were two of me that is (ones enuff for most

much wheelspin in the cos? were you coming of a sweeping bend against it?
i'm not saying i have cuffed them but it was a little closer than you are saying,i would say 60-180 odd(speedo) in my car and in kevs 3door there wasnt anything in it and the were absolutely side by side flat out.

Not really anywheels spin....the R1 was WAY quicker than my car until the speed started to build.
