why is it best?

when you would need live mapping to correctly run air injectors.....

amal valves are fine....its not like you need to map out surge with a t34...

ii disagree.

its betrer if you need it to be mapped bleed on.....to map surge etc....

but on a t34 you could weld the wastegate shut and not have surge....

air injection also has one really bad point....

if your injector fails or gets blocked...you make all the boost your turbo can make, potentially killing your engine..

i run air injection because i need it, not because its best....

I agree with Jtech, saty away from air correctors as failure melts engines, the amal valve is perfectly adequate, the std ecu is limited in boost control ,as it is on/off in action, and not load AND throttle angle determined, if you want the best setup for the road, I would get it rolling road mapped, no one including stu can control all the conditions that you can on a rolling road, ie hold rpm/power/speed function to check load sites.
By the time you add on CL, coilpack, AL, ecu, chip, mapping etc you can buy a aftermarlet ecu/loom and mapping, and have many more fucntions, even a triple map costs only £275 where I go.

not true - the PWM output from the ECU is variable depending on ACT etc

he reckons that the amal valve makes the boost drop off to much thats why he said get a boost controller as that wont happen. surely when i get my rs500 cooler and put that on it can be tuned to what its suppose to run, without getting air injectors and boost controllers, ive got all this stage 3 stuff on my car and he has basically got my car running less power than a stage one setup. its 250bhp............ crapppppppppppppppp is the word, thinking about it, ive been butt fooked big time.

It sounds like the guy doesn't know what he's doing. Amal valves do have their limitations (eg, I wouldn't want to run one at 2 bar), but they and the boost control strategy in the ecu is a 'boost controller'. The chip will be mapped for boost control I would have thought!

Speak to the calibrator (MSD), not some monkey.

he may be correct in a way - but you have the possibility of using different sized jets in the SEM valve and differently sprung actuators to control the boost how you want it without having to spend on a boost controller. although to be fair to him, a boost controller is possibly easier and gives better control in the long run.

ah, my mate alan. he once signed up her to try and make me sound stupid after he LOST my rather rare peice of turbotechnics equipment and didn't care

basically, whilst what youve told s not FACT, hes advising you to change the spec of your car so that HE kws what to do with it. there are many competent tuners in the UK who can deal with the standard cosse stuff just fine, so you do not NEED to change anytihng (otehr than your tuner )

re: blackpool, i recently took a visit to MSD for a fault that 3-4 other place couldnt diagnise...

stu charged me pennies and change my SPARK PLUGS, problem solved

cost me more in fuel than the invoice.

do it once, do it right

oh, and its not just MSD, there are loads of places that know what theyre doing

i wouldnt say stay away from air injectors, they are very good, but imo on a t34 car wouldnt give much benifit...

my t34 car peaked 32psi and held 28psi, what more do you need? i could have welded the wastegate shut and not made more power ....all with a correctly jetted amal valve.....

a friend of mine took his cossie to alan jeffery, and he was unable to get the boost up over 20psi.....it came to me, and i jetted the amal, something really simple, and it made 30psi easily.........he really should know how to do this, rather than sell boost controllers you dont need....

The man is a fucking retard.

If theres nothing else wrong, even a 5quid bleed valve would happily control the boost you have on a stg3 setup.

all tuners slag off anything they dont sell or dont understand.

thats why i loath going to any tuners, they even do it with simple things like exhausts and filters to put their own brand on it, never mind more expensive stuff.

utter cunts.

and to make it worse the customers still suck em off.

and to make it even worse they go round the net and mates and shit and tell everyone else this bullshit info.

and to make it worse again they tell magazines in tuning guides and then the whole world starts hearing the same bullshit.

boils my piss.
