You sound like one of the sad muppetts i come across on my bike when you give em a chance and you totally humiliate them on the open road. They even pull across to stop you overtaking them but when you tw*t theyre mirror off they see it differently. You will never do a bike on the road so get used to it.

Doesn't it all depend on what car and what bike, what the weather conditions are etc...

I've pissed all over some bikes from a standing start upto 150ish, and then I've had my arse whipped by others. In all cases though I try to show respect to who I'm racing. If they are quicker than me, then I move over and let them pass.

Ranj's new beast will most likely beat lots and lots of bikes, but there will be some it won't, it's the nature of the game

like i say , it all good , there are peopls out there who have/had fast cars who have never experianced two wheels , i.e the range of 'new' hyperbikes , not the likes of the shonky old fireplace or the original R1 series , yes all fast , but NOT by todays std, i consider myself to be qualified enough to comment having had bikes for nye on 8 years , and owning a relativley quick car and a relativley quick bike, and for me , its just totally diff thrill/buzz using both beasts !! hence i couldnt choose between the two
one thing i would say tho , is i would NEVER own another full on road car built for high power/top speed, there just so boring , and the oppertunity of use window is so small where as the bike is a massive compromise, very fast accel and top speed , i dont need the amount of room/time to get it there , awsome stopping power , and on the daily run to work ( i do use it in all weather) it returns me a nice 55mpg !!

just doesnt get much better !!
I'm going to assume that's aimed at me due to the "fireplace" jibe

If you had read my post properly you would have seen that I said...... "even if there are much more powerful bikes around than a 2000 'blade these days there will be alot of bikes that he will be able to "kill"

Hence there is no need to tell me that a Blade aint as quick as a modern hyperbike in fact Ranj didn't even say he would be able to waste ALL bikes

I also agree with alot you said about the thrill you get from superbikes as I also am able to comment having taken my bike licence before my car licence & rode for 5 years. Granted probably not on a bike as fast as yours but the quickest bike I had was a race-tuned YZF750R (also had RD350, RG500, CBR600 & GSXR750) which was RR'd at 141bhp @ the back wheel & was quicker than all my mates R1's. Unfortunately that thrill you get is also accompanied by alot of danger, alot of it coming from other road users...........I had too many close calls with people pulling out on me & after a good mate was killed like that I decided I would get out before my luck ran out.

Ian2wdsaffcos,

never assume m8 !! you shouldnt need to ask why

tbh , cant even remeber reading your post at all , ley alone knowing that youve got a fireplace !! its all irrelevent anyway m8 , i have a 'term; for most bikes !! and as for mine being fast - nowhere near the hyperbike category , but faster than 95% of cars
enjoy the biking again m8 ! you just gotta watch out for the non biking car drivers

if you beat a bike on the road they either pull over an ask what the fuck you got in that, an have a good chat or get really arsey call you a wanker and pretend they wern't playing anyway bikes Vs cars is an age old debate, just like 4x4 vs 2WD , all depends on hundreds of variables

Markk,

Aint that a ZX12-R in your siggy? Thought that was one of the quickest bikes (in a straight line) you could buy along with a 'Busa these days? Or am I that out of touch with the biking scene these days
