Col why dont you take the ecu through and get alan to download the base map he did for me then you can use the car and take it through for a check up, wont be fast but will get you to the shows untill there is a space for mapping.

good idea neil, but if you are doing this you will need to be quick, alan off for over a week from fri i think....

that sounds ok neil but the sweedish inlet i bought had the mounting lugs for the fuel rail welded in wrong place and now thats it all been built up i was hoping tom could cut them off and reweld in place

once the car was through


i dont know if im going to regret this mappable managment idea

Thats why im saying that to Col i know when i had mine back to run it in it gave me motivation again.

i can imagine how you must be feeling having it back mate, could tell speaking to you earlier that you got the bug for it back again, amazing the difference a week makes....hope i am saying the same as you this time next week, even if its just to run the engine in...

After talking to Tony from turbosystems last week im thinking the same, but will leave that open untill i get the car back.

must be murder for you scott

my car has only been off road since jan,but the mot ran out today along with insurance next week

it was getting trailered through anyway but was hoping to be able to pick it up and it be road legal for journey home

looks like it will be another trailer job home too

seems like its never going to end, and i still dont know how well its all going to work, after all this time i'm hoping for a lot, but am now at the stage i just want to drive it, and i'm not for spending any more money on it, if it breaks this time then that will be the end of the road for it....

Nope Col just that he could easily do me a chip for my spec if i still had P8, might not get the same level of power as all the fine tuning on the rollers but atleast it would be on the road.
This time my car has been in for about 3 months but there have been the problems with the gearbox and fuel pumps so dont know how long Alan has actualy been mapping.

hopefully mine will only be in for a week,ive rewired the pump so hopefully not run into any issues

except maybe the need for coilpack

I mentioned to Alan about going coil pack on mine but he has fixed the missfire at 6k and it was now reving to 8K smoothly but the boost hadnt been turned up yet. I think if we do need to go coil pack i will be buying one od Stu's kits minus the coil driver as the ecu already has one.
