when did rs500 start and finish in btcc ?

Default when did rs500 start and finish in btcc ?
just wondering which years i have 1988 and 1989 on video anyone know which other years they ran the cossies ?

late 87 to end of 90 in this country

3drs were jan '87 till august '87, then they all become rs500's after that date as per martins answer.

The rules were changed in the BTCC to get more manufacturers racing as the BBC wouldn't show "a Ford advert" which the BTCC had become due to the 500's dominance.
