Default the fiesta RST is legal! but something doesnt feel right?

after 3 years i have finally got the fiesta rs turbo back on the road, its completely standard, but something just doesnt feel right, it feels as if the boost comes in at a higher rpm and i remember it feeling a lot lower, just doesnt feel like it has the kick and pickup speed it used to have?

the t2 turbo is a new unit along with the actuator. i have a focus tdci with bluefin and that feels as if it picks up better.

i look forward to your responce guys.

deisels have more torque so will feel quicker i would think compared to a fiesta

see what boost its holding and when its on boost will help answer,, you might have the cam timing out by 1 tooth which will make it feel slower low down

Sounds to me like uve either got the worng actuator or spring in it. If its a serviceable type (ie allen bolts to unscrew it) then it could be the wrong strength spring if its not( ie sealed garret item) then this is prob not the problem.

Have you set the actuator up correctly? You must have a boost gauge its the most important tool when having a turbo car.

If all this is done then you may have the timing slightly out. If it is, you will probably need to set the boost again after timing the car up.

I would persoanly go for a Autometer Boost gauge. Give Ian @ Racetek a call: 07721 078371

theold unit i had was on the car from new, but this is a turbo technics recon unit, the actuator has a 8mm nut to adjust the rod.

it should be boosting alot earlier that 3500rpm, the t2's brilliant low down and make for a quick road car, i would expect to see it on full chat at 2500rpm

as you havent got a boost gauge its difficult to guess what psi its running

i suspect it isnt timed up correctly

right, going to buy a boost guage tomorrow to see what its running, had a play with the car today and its boosting at 3500rpm much higher than it used to be a few years back, so something is wrong. heres a few pictures of the actuator, isnt wound out at all by the looks of things, im also booking it in for a set up soon as well to see its running perfect.

excuse the white stuff, i spilt anti freeze everywhere!
