Default Anyone been to Hawaii?

Just worked it out I'll be travelling for 29 hours before i get to the hotel
(Manchester > Amsterdam > Seattle > Honolulu)
Going to stay on Waikiki beach, mate of mine is getting married .

Who's been before and what should i look out for / not miss, there for 14 days.

Cheers,
Jim.

There is a film on Sky box office at the mo called Into The Wild, about this youth who just fucks off and walks / hitches to Alaska.
It looks an amazing place.... very intimidating at times i'd imagine but
what an experience that would be.

I agree with you mate.

i've been there on my travels; waikiki beach is nice; but its quite high rise; fast food joints all over the place; modern shops and IMO not the "true" Hawaii

get yourself up the North Shore for some nice beaches, (the film point break) was filmed there, really good if your a surfer and the water is clear to do some snorkling. Just google "North Shore, Hawaii"

i spent a whole day at the Peral harbour site; simply brilliant; and make sure you hire the audio tape to walk around with. You also can go on the memorial site which is pitched over the ship that sank (Arizona) and weirdly oil is still coming up from the ship

loads of things to do, if you fancy a walk go to Diamond Head and walk around it - again just google it

get yourself down to the shooting range on the main strip in waikiki beach; i'd never fire a proper gun before and it was mental

enjoy
