I went to Maui and Waikiki this year enjoyed both places, When I go again I will try the other Islands, Also try Las vegas 
I would recomend it

We spent our honeymoon in Hawaii.
Stayed at Waikiki Beach - great place. It's on the island of Oahu next to Honolulu.
Went to Vegas first for 5 nights, then onto Hawaii for 7 nights then California for another 5 nights on the way back.
Remember that Hawaii is a 5 hour flight from the Wast coast of the US so it makes sense to stop off somehere en-route to break up the journey.
As Mark says, stop off in Vegas for a few nights. Apart from being on the way, it's the most awesome place on the planet!
