Cosworth misfire problem
Hiya, this ones for the cossie guru's out there. I fitted a K&N induction kit to my standard cossie about a week ago, and now i have noticed tonight that it has developed a misfire at the high rev range when the throttle is fully open. im pretty sure it never used to do it with the standard airbox, but this could be nothing to do with it. Could it be plugs, leads, cap, rotor arm, fuel pressure, air mixture, or anything like that?
Im getting it chipped to stage 1 soon anyway, but it would be a great help if someone could put my mind at rest.
Cheers in advance,
Mike

Start at the plugs, though if your leads, cap and rotorarm haven't been changed for a while you'd be best off replacing the lot so you've got the best possible base for your stage 1 tune
Probably worth replacing fuel filter if not done recently and check the voltage at the fuel pump incase the wiring is dodgy giving low voltage at the pump and hence not the flow the pump should be putting out.

Mike, you have to be careful now that you have fitted the K & N !!
Because these K & N cone filters are more efficiant than the standard air box, it could well be that the extra air flow means that your car is now running LEAN - especially at high RPM's. It would well be the reason for your missfire

thats what i was thinking. as its letting in more air, obviously its running more lean that what it was. So how do you go about adjusting it? is it a case of o rolling road session?
