Yep Plumbing and Heating work has dryed up for me in Kent, im fitting kitchens atm, which is what i used to do (15years ago) before the Plumbing and Heating.

 

What do you fit mate?
Maybe the guide dog puts people off?

 

The big Housebuilders have all made cuts, and the building game always suffers first........


Luckily most of my work is maintenance & local authority work which has only dipped a little.....

only been in this job about 3 months, and im currently working 10-14 hour days.

start at 6.30 and at least 3 days a week i wont be in before 7pm...

im a lorry driver and my company is at its summer peak at the mo so im lucky to get a day off other than my lagal rest periods at the mo

Not really, i do maintenance work on buildings in london.

Lost a few sites but that was mainly down to the buildings being sold and the new landlords bringing there own people.

Just how it goes really, should be ok for a while as a lot of the big chillers need replacing now as the gas they run will not be available from 2010.

So got plenty of work doing the retrofits.

But on the flip-side, guys at college who do a/c install's have said work has dried up pretty quickly and are struggling a little bit (sp).

yes same story for me im plasterer currently working in dublin but Ireland is just fucked at min totally, i know heap of friends that went to UK to find plastering work but got nothing.... it just seems to be same al over!!!

I Specialise In fitting Electric Blinds, As we speak I'm In Edinbourgh with 8 to fit tomorrow, Turned the job down twice!! But as all my usual contacts are dead, some work Is better than none!!

 

fucking wish it was quieter at the min 12 hour day's during the week 8 hours on a sat and 8 on a sunday.

And we've got guaranteed work for the next 5 years at least

I like overtime, it's moneytastic

Work at a company that make's the wiring and electrical system's for big arsed mother fucking ship's

 

im short 50% of staff and my company are planning to make MORE than the expected sales,,,,, im FUCKED !!!

im gonna look for another job as im REALL tired as my job is mental strain and i cant be arsed with the hassle

 

Im busy as hell usually this time of year we have been known to do 18hr days

 

im a scaffolder and i know alot of firms are struggerling at the mo

which means further down the line other trades (brickies, sparks, etc, ets) will start suffering

 

Any downturn in the economy hits the site Brickies/spreads/chipies first, and is proof of a future recesion, no matter what the Gov' say...

 

My work is quiet but I've spread myself over 2 other jobs in the company so I'm actually very busy at work (get paid piece work too) Most others are happy to do one thing and earn less, I'm earning more now than in the last 12 years there. If I dossed about and stuck with my 'main' job I'd probably be earning half what I do.
