Cool Thanks Stu

Thanks Stu for the chip & the advice today I ended up with 349.9bhp & 325lbft on the dyno dynamics rolling road so I'm over the moon with that.

Brilliant service

It's a 2 wheel drive on a T34.48 with a pace rs500 intercooler, 803's, 3 bar map sensor, panel filter and exhaust It's got a really nice power delivery now because it was quite harsh on the gunship and used to spin up once it came on boost. It still does that because I'm on the 15"s but nowhere near as bad.

It was set-up at Motorworx in Marlow

we had it as high as 363bhp but it started missing so we backed the boost off. I think I gapped the plugs too far so I'll buy a new set (any recommendations?) and gap them to .55mm instead of .65mm

I think it's holding 21.5psi on the rollers and I can't remember what plugs they are in there. It's peaking at 26psi.

If on coil i'd say ik31's gapped at 0.65mm,if coilpacks 0.8mm.

Great power

Thought the torque would of been higher with a 26psi spike on a .48

So did I but I'm not bothered right now, the inlet temps were quite high and the plugs weren't the best so I'm happy.

I'm still on the coil (group A) so I'll look at those plugs, where do I get them from?

Glad your happy mate, thanks for the kind words but theres really no need to thank me, you paid for the after sales service in with the price of the chip, it was my pleasure to deliver it.

My first thought's exactly mate!

Nice power though and I bet it runs lovely on a Stu chip, mine certainly does!

That's what I thought but I'm thinking it's because they set the boost up on the actuator rod and now jetting the amal valve I also don't know if it's genuinely a -31 actuator so I might fit my -31 off of my old turbo and have a play with the jets now I know it's safe.

Here is the only graph I have access to at the moment, see what you think to the boost line because I'm not convinced.

Peak boost at 4800 rpm is your problem mate, dont know if he didnt put his foot down till then or what but a good T34 will make peak boost nearer 3500. T4s peak earlier than yours has on that graph, hence as far as paper power goes, you are down on torque.

I can see that but I don't know why, he had his foot down from quite early on so I'm blaming the actuator & amal valve jets. It's quite laggy at the moment as you'd expect but it goes well. I'll have a play with it and get it back on the rollers but I'm over the moon.

My T34 has a .55 exhaust housing and on a DD RR makes peak boost @ 4200rpm, yours does look laggy from the graph.

So long as your happy mate thats the main thing, mine had it's Amal Valve rejetted by Stu whilst I was up there but i've still got a bit of a weak actuator which I'd diagnosed myself before even going up there! lol

24 psi on my T3 is good enough for a laugh for a while, could be 26psi peak but I just can't be arsed to mess about with it for the sake of 2psi boost! It runs lovely as it is and is a fucking awesome no lag road car!

I changed the actuator for a known -31 and it has solved the problem So I was sold a T34.63 with a -31 and got a T34.48 with a standard actuator I hope the seller is happy because I'm not I thought it was just ebay where you got stitched up

The car has been transformed since fitting the chip & bits to be honest. It has solved some issues I had and it is awesome fun and runs and idles perfectly. My Subaru owning sister says it's quite and her Subaru owning boyfriend drove it earlier and can't believe how it pulls and his Subaru is 300bhp!

It's a real credit to Stu, I fitted the correct actuator as per the instructions and it's bang on, I wish the turbo seller hadn't told me untruths.

As for my car I've just broke and sold, I dont think the PF servers have enough space for the reply

I've just sent the turbo seller a pm to tell them the news, they already knew the housing wasn't what they told me as soon as I noticed but they have now wasted me the money for the setting up time

I'll do a proper writeup tomorrow because the way the car drives and how smooth it runs is something else.

In a nutshell I'm over the moon with the way it runs and pissed off with the guy I bought the turbo from and would like some money back.

It might need a different map now if Stu supplied you one for a T34.63 and its only a T34.48. But at the top of the post you do state its a T34.48.
Does it boost earlier now with your -31 ?

Steve.

I realised the turbo error when I got it so Stu supplied the correct chip

It spools up very well now and is nowhere near as laggy. I removed the old actuator and the rod was about as short as it was going to go I wish I'd known at the time it was the wrong actuator because we could have stopped wasting out time and my money.
