Royal Mail help!
In need of some help here! I sent a parcel off 12 days ago via Royal Mail. The item that was in it sold on Ebay for £48.90. I have 100% feed back on 145 items. The bloke who won the auction is saying he has not recieved the item and wants his money back. I dont have the postal receipt...... what do I do?

if u have no proof of postage u cant claim off royal mail so u have two choices, bite the bullet and refund him or wait and see if he opens a dispute and hope it goes in your favour

I agree with Pete - I always send anything important via Special Delivery as I then know it got there safely (for my own peace of mind as opposed to being untrusting....although that's always a factor with eBay) and I personally think SD items are less likely to go walkabout whilst in RM/PF's care.... for the little extra it costs it's not worth NOT doing it, imo.

Just watch the royal mail. I can't remember if it's special delivery or another one that is signed for, but it isn't tracked until it's delivered, so if it gets lost in the post and not delivered, it can't be tracked. How fecking stupid is that.

Been burnt with this, I've sent over 100 items without recorded delivery and mate has sent over a 1000 without problem.... until Ebay changed the rules. I've had less than 50% leave feedback from the sales since and 2 saying they never recieved the items. Have given refund to them but wont be using Ebay again, fucking joke IMO.

That won't work. PayPal still can take money from his bank account. I think the only way to stop it is to close his PayPal account, but this has not been tested...

Mate - tell him to hangfire - I've had 2 items recently that have taken 14 days & 28 days to reach me even though the seller sent them straight away - postalmark dates back this up.

Shite at the moment? I cant remember them ever being any good in the last 10 years.
My post arrives at 2-3pm nowadays!
What ever happened to waking up, walking downstairs and seeing the mail on the floor!?!?!?! Cant see it ever happening again.
By the way, ive just sent a package by standard royal mail parcels as they wouldnt let me do it recorded delivery as they said it was too big! The only other option was £16.00 so i went for the £5 standard option. the items worth £47 so would i only get back £36 if i have to make a claim or will i get £36 plus the £5 postage back?

royal mail arnt shit!
royal mail managers are stupid though
i dont start till 8am now as they have stopped early morning working so they dont have to pay us extra
so its now a day job not a morning job
SPECIAL DELIVERY is a fully tracked system signed for buy every one who has contact with it. so will not get lost and will be delivered by 1pm next day. it is also fully insured against loss/damage
RECORDED DELIVERY is only signed for by the receiver. is transported by normal mail and can get lost/damaged/stolen anywhere(so is a waist of money)

What i cant understand is, apart from the items that are received but they say otherwise, where do all the genuinely LOST items end up? Obviously stolen by employees or someone who has contact with it somewhere along the line. Where else can they possibly get 'lost'?

I think maybe they should fix/modify/repair the sorting machines then to try and stop them getting damaged maybe?
Ok i suppose some may get damaged and the packaging ripped of if its packed poorly, but ive had things go missing from hard boxes that have no chance of getting 'damaged', so i wonder where these went?

this gives us honest posties a bad name.
i go out of my way to get peoples mail/parcels to them
this includes putting parcels in garages/sheds/neighbours
i even sign for certain customers parcels so they dont have to collect them later
i just wish all were as honest
