Wink Mountain bikers--Rear Shocks

Been thinking of changing the rear shock on my mountain bike, or at least modding it slightly.

Which are better, spring coil overs or air type.
If it was a coil over type, what is the best lb rating spring for a skinny 11 stone weed. (cause it's for my mate, honest!!)

id personally go for the coil type. ive never rated the air shocks. whenever i got my shock servived i sent it to dave at stendec who takes a load of details off you (frame you got/weight of you etc..) and will set the shock up personally for you. normally takes about a week or so but he defo knows what he's doing.
