Took a total of 2 hours on my laptop including download & installation - then the next time i rebooted my computer found that it had deleted my all my internet connection & ISP settings & i couldnt connect to the internet - ended up having to do an emergency recover on my computer to get internet & ISP settings back - mine is staying on XP SP2 now

Id do new pc installs with SP3 now.

When starting with this as a base, it does seem quite stable from what Ive found.

Now .. Vista Service Pack 1 ... AFPMSL

After installing XP SP3 I had a problem with the windows update but adding the following to the trusted sites makes it work:

http://*.update.microsoft.com
https://*.update.microsoft.com
http://download.windowsupdate.com

Havent noticed any difference so far really, have you? not done a reboot to check boot up speed yet but just knowing im up to date is good enough for me, wasnt expecting anything spectacular to happen.
