Yeah, you can retain the plate for £105. Go into your local DVLA place and they'll sort it. The car must either be MOT'd and Taxed or have been MOT'd or Taxed within the last 6 months i think.

The £105 is the cost of keeping it on retention for 12 months if I remember rightly. Just hold of it that way til you find a motor for it.

Sounds like a good deal at £1500 for plate and car. I'd guess the plate is worth £1000 minimum, a lot more to someone called Jacko or maybe a Michael Jackson fan/weirdo?

I rekon that plate could be worth 2-3k to the right person.

There must be hundreds of Jacksons who would suit this plate.

I look at plates most days, plates with a 4 in making an A fetch strong money.

anyone know the best way to go about selling number plates? mine is JAG xxxL (x=numbers) so presumably it's worth quite a bit to a car that owns a Jaguar, especially as it'll go on pretty much anytihng as it's an L plate.

ps my initials are JAG, and my mum gave it to me as a present, an i dont want it

For sure, get it bought and get the plate in to DVLA auctions, this is where you will see top money for it.

I'm suprised at the 4k price tag. I've got D4N RF. D.R.F are my initials so I got lucky. Only came to 1k. My sister calls all my cars dandruff though!! Can't win.

nope was sold at midland registrations, basically when i bought my plate DVLA didnt sell to the public so i had to use a dealer for it

2 years later and DVLA sell NEW reg's to the public and dealers now cant rip people off on NEW reg's

mine should have been 999 plus vat and transfer

plates are worth what someones willing to pay,,,, but some plates wont have much following

a bloke i know in kilburn has the plate B1GLS but reason B1G L'S as hes nick name is lucky

oh and a mate of mine from albania has the reg V11LEN ,,,, if you knew him you would understand

I was once offered £1500 for EIL132 amongst other offers because a guys daughters name was Eilidh, never understood how it could be made to look like it. I turned it down and eventually the shell was happily scrapped along with plate....

Any Micheal Jackson nobbers will go after it and has to be worth something
