Wheels with Insurance?!? HELP!!!
Sorting out insurance for all the extra bits on my new car, and I need some help. Its not like my old car, everything seemed easier with the insurance...
I want to fit some Compomotive MO's on instead of the Focus RS wheels on my Focus RS, and I keep getting different opinions on the matter. Despite the RS having alloy wheels as standard, and covered by insurance, would the insurance go up if you get a different set of wheels despite them being the same size etc???

Alright mate, how's the new motor??!! Never found adding a different set of alloy wheels to the long list of declared mods on my insurance ever made much difference to the premium!

20K+ Super Poster.
If you are already on modified insuarance, can't see it will make any difference.
When I insured a mondy I rebuilt it had had it's wheels stolen, amongst other things.
The person on the phone told me it's modified etc etc, new engine(0.5mm rebore), so were declining, until I spoke to thier underwriter, she seemed well clued up, and said aftermarket alloys and engine are fine, as alloys are LESS expensive than the ford ones.
This was with Privelege.

When i fitted the MO's to my FRS Adrian Flux only charged a £5 admin fee to add them to the policy but didnt raise the price of the overall premium
They bascially said that as the FRS had alloys as standard fitting aftermarket wheels of the exact same size & fitment made no difference to the policy premium
