As a new fiesta owner mate - get the polo

mpg on the diesel fiestas is shocking compared to what it should be

polo will be made better and at the end of the day it costs more cos it's a better car IMO

and thats from someone who loves his mk6 fiesta

£35 a year tax on the Fiesta!!

Dunno about the Polo.

Remap either of them and you will have a tidy town car.

my parents a fezza 1.4TDCi and the mpg is really good? the tax has gone up to £40-45 now.

i was quite chuffed about the way it drives, and the build quality etc.

VW's dont have as good build quality as their reputation would have you think they have.

and the ford is gonna be much cheaper on parts, servicing etc.

buy the 1,6 tdci. my is 6000km old and have just been on the dyno. 104,58hp standart. and its a lot better engine than the 1,4

my fiesta goes abaut 20-22km on a litre of diesel.. 17 on the freeway with 140-170km/l . my cosworth goes 8km/l on stage 1.. lol..

Forget either of them - get a Seat Ibiza TDI 130PD - remapped they hit approx 180bhp & they go like shit of a shovel when remapped!!

I've just helped a mate get one - she paid £3400 for a 02 plate.

Corsa 1.3 cdti....
Mates last tank was 585 miles, and took 10 gallons.
Nippy enough, and that was mainly town driving and he's not the most economic driver.
Supposed to do 70+ on a run, can well believe it.

If you want "german build quality" take the Fiesta as they're build in Cologne. Most VW Polos are built in Spain or even Slovakia.

The only thing about the Fiesta that would put me off is the Peugeot engine.
