sierra rouse sport cosworth 302 r
i understand its difficult to give an exact price but i've seen a rouse sport 302 r sierra cosworth in white for sale with 90k on clock but the engine was done last year its either a g reg or h reg(not sure at minute because it has a private plate). Before i go & have a look at it could anybody tell me what the common problems are with them what i should look out for & a rough price & what i should look for to make sure it is an original rouse sport.i know it has the plates specifying which number out of 100 it is but i suppose anybody could put them on a sierra.Would it say it on the logbook? .Also what tax would i be paying& what insurance group are they.thanks in advance for any replies & any help would be greatly appreciated

just finding my feet
the condition is the MOST important thing, check the arches and front bumper and base it on that
thats a nice car ( i personally fitted the stage 3 stuff to it ) but requires work to make it good condition, mechanically its mint though but could be made ALOT better with some adjustable verniers and timed up correctly
i would buy that car as ive met both the previous owners but the price Vs condition is what i would wonder about

ANOTHER white rouse up for sale,,,, a 302r must be TEL 302R then, thats a different car,,, its not a car to be driven like its ment to be,, unlike A7 which is a better one for a actual usable cossie

you sure its a 302r and not a 304r ( as in 4wd )
there was only 6 made of which 4 are ment to be left,, that would mean that 3 of em left are white,,,,,,, seems slim to me but not impossible
hell i bumped onto the bloke who used to own my cossie in france at a petrol station,, so i belive that the world IS a small place these days

it wouldnt say it on the logbook i dont think
only way to tell is they have a plaque on tehe post to giving chassis details na dthe number etc
also look for original parts like the smaller turbo t25 they used
arches should be rolled aswell, wider tyres, also a badge on the cambelt cover saying shell with the grade of oil on it
seats with badges in, obviously the kit aswell
condition wise, same as any other sierra mate, arches, sills, especially behind the kit, but you wont see unless you take the skirt off
then chassis legs, rear triangles on iner sills
its condition mainly and original parts
wheres doo when you need him

No it deffinetly says 302r on the back do you think it would say it on the log book if it is.i,m not sure what to look for as i'm an ex-impreza sti owner.i say ex because it caught fire apparently electrical fault which didnt make sense because the car had been stood for 10hrs & it was only 3 year old but thats another story so i'm on here hopefully to get some ideas about it being an original rouse sport.hopefully also if i do end up buying it i wont be dissappointed ater having wrx sti type uk

they drive different to imprezas,,, tbh if its the first cossie and you like to drive rather than polish stuff then i would get a VERY high spec 2wd saph for arpund the same cash as the rouse,,,,, cause the rouse engines aint as nice to drive as a cossie on t34 running 34psi boost
i went the other way, i used to have a cossie and now i got a STI pmsl

I know the other 2 numbers to that reg.
It's very local to me. I don't know the owner who has it now.
But i know the person who had it 15 years ago. Funny story behind how he got the cash for the car.
I went in it a few times and it was a nice car. It's not been crashed to my knowledge. If you PM me i can give you some more info on it.
Where about's do you live?

the best bits about the Rouse Sport has been removed so the value is far less if you realy want a Rouse Sport find 1 that original and that still retains its turbo as that is what makes the car what it is.
Don't be expecting any massive BHP figures but the Torque is unreal 5th gear 40mph put your foot down no lag just smooth power all the way to 140mph+

PassionFord Post Whore!!
The Rouse Sports drive so different, mine is just so smooth due to smaller turbo. Nice to have such a rare car.
