mfi boost problems?

Default mfi boost problems?

my mates escort turbo has a problem boosting, he removed the turbo and after refitting it he says he has no boost? it sounds like the turbo is spinning but not boosting above zero? am i right in thinking if it was a boost leak mfi wouldnt run or am i wrong? thanks guys

make sure the wastgate isnt siezed, also has he tensioned the actuator? thats a comon mistake.

he's fitted the same turbo back, and was only came off and went straight back on so shouldnt sieze and you can see it moving, will mfi run with a boost leak?

he changed his intercooler and just wondering if it has a poss pin hole or something if this would cause this?

Check for boost leaks then, go over all hoses and check there all done up etc


MFi would still work too.

mfi would struggle actually if it was a noticeable boost leak as it runs on vacuum, so it hates any kind of air leak!!!

Sounds more like the wastegate to me!!!
