Default st170 problems help!!! plz!!

last night i was driving home from a night out , between first and second gear the clutch pedal stayed on the floor when going for second. and wouldnt realise it self.

i turned it off for a bit and walked to the petrol station , when i returned about 5 mins later the clutch pedal was back in its normal position, but is now very hard to push down . i got the car towed home as i cannot select any gears whilst the engine is running, but when its turned off i can select them all .

obviously the clutch is fubar'd but i woulndt have thought it would stop it going into gear so whats causing this .

if pedal goes hard its normally realese bearing going through the cover plate, either way you gotta have the box off, dont forget to do the slave cylinder too, dunno if there concentric or not on those but if they are deffo do em wouldnt want to have to have the box of again cause started leaking.

spose could be the master cylinder but doubt that all depends on the feel

as said above, sounds like a clutch change needed to me, might as well do the lot on the ST as its not the easiest of jobs, as the box is a bitch to remove!

rs box conversion is harder than it sounds. you'd need driveshafts, clutch, flywheel, hubs, suspension and other things in order to do it properly.

find the issue and solve it first and its not worth over complicating things by swapping boxes clutches and flywheels etc

You want to go for a clutch masters clutch with an alloy flywheel mate comes a kit i believe from the states including the replacement slave cyclinder and tool to line the clutch up etc.

Look on ebay.com under svt as this is what the st170 is called in the usa
