Default SECS monitor HELP

M.A.P sensor input failed has flashed up 3 times in the last 2 days

but the car runs fine. when the error flashed up i turned the car off for a few mins. then restarted all is ok and no more error warnings

whats the cause and the remedy please. where is the sensor and how do i check for failure

and how much is it going to cost

4x4 k reg cosworth if that helps

It should be on the right hand side, passy side of engine bay under neath a little trangle shaped bracket hidern under it.

Mine did that and i found the plug to the map sensor was fubar,replaced and all is well now.

on my secs monitor at the moment im getting AIR CHARGE TEMP SENSOR RANGE FAILURE -40c.

but pectel monitor pics up nothing so i think maybe the wire for the act sensor has come unsoldered in the hair brush plug for the ecu, does it sound likely?

Yes, because when this goes open circuit, it displays this figure.

pulled the main loom hairbrush plug open yesturday and the act wire had not come unsoldered from pin 31 but i pulled it off and re soldered it anyway and problem seems to be solved now

Thats spooky... mine does that too..

I think I'll go for a re-solder.

problem not solved at all

still flashes up alarm sensor range failed -40 deg act???

maybe its the wire on the back of the monitor? or any other ideas people

it was the act sensor itself that had failed, fitted a new 1 and problem solved
