Here we go again

I have just bought what i think is a real traders policy for 2k , and i think im covered for anything

Read the very small print on page 1,223 and you will find you most probably arnt covered for half the cars you think you are .
Unless, you are a real trader with premmisis and are paying about 5k then please dont take any notice of the above comments

As above check what you are insured on

I have a traders and have done for years since i had my own valeting buisness and kept it on as i still buy and sell aprox 2 cars a month and do a lot of mot work on weekends but i agreed a valuation with my saff as with a traders they WILL try to pay you trade value for a car if anything happends and even though my insurence says i am insured on any car in the small print i am not covered on any jap import cars and had to get them to agree to cover cosworths as i do quite a bit work on them.......

I have also heard there a load of balls crash your car and get less than book for it

ideal for everyday cars clios corsa's etc

As Paul said you need to pay lots to get the real cover u need

you get what you pay for with a traders policy.

Im only allowed to drive Jap cars if its 10% of my total cars, TVR's and any other space frames cars are banned.

Im allowed to drive left hookers and yank imports but it added about 40% to the cost of the policy to add those.

ive had mine 6 years no restrictions apart from motor homes recovery trucks that take over 2 cars and bikes

i had a non fault claim a year ago as it wasnt my fault they vertually paid me out retail on the car.

however i know one day if i damage my own car or have one stolen it will be a battle.

i got told mine wont cover cosworths or imports, and its only 3rd party, i know i wont get sod all out of them, but the other day i rang up and they put my cossy on it! ive read through the small print and it states not covered for imports but nothing excluding cosworths, i think they make it up as the go along sometimes. i did pay extra to have sports and performance added on when i renewed this year

Basic rule of thumb is if its under 3.5k its not good cover ( so my brocker says )

Surely if there is a chance to save 4 figure sums its worth you taking a look?

Now get back on topic......The guy thinks he has a good deal and policy like you do so let that be!!!! Now tell him what car to buy!

I have never seen so many 'traders' policies as I have just lately. Tradex are a right pain for me on a professional level.

Seems god and his dog can get a traders policy nowadays.
