It's 2 hours labour and you have to remember that when you refer to it as 'just connecting a couple of wires', it's actually a bit more than that.

We have to site and mount the valve, and pipe it up, which on some cars is a real arse and also mount the unit.

When you're doing it yourself it's OK to just chuck it in, but as a proper reputable garage, we can't do that.

Apexi AVC-R's have about 6-8 wires to connect, into the main ECU loom. They all vary. We fit lots and get no complaints from the Jap boys about what we charge.

http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/Boost_C...BC_Install.asp

We charge £100 for the fitting of it and £55-100 in Dyno time if the customer wants us to set it up.

I suppose it depends on how confident you are really, took me about 2 hrs to fit my AVC-R and SAFC including wiring up etc...............

But I agree if you dont know what your doing its best to take it to someone to fit

Greddy is easy to fit, setting up is more complicated.

Standard Evo can usually tolerate more boost, especially once you change the exhaust/frontpipe/decat, so a boost controller is useful then.

Agreed. its 3 - 4 hours work all in to do a professional and safe installation with the fuelling and boost matched properly and it also requires skill and AFR monitoring equipment of course.

Yes, its one of those jobs, just like gauge fitting and manifold wrapping, where you can't charge for what time you actually spend on it.

No. You are about as far as I'd like to go on Standard Turbo/Injectors/ECU.

What ECU do you have? Standard? Ralliart? Or?

and what a subject that is.

We fit Twin-plates now by choice, even to low spec Evo's as nothing else lasts.

not sure on ecu... but the turbo of choice would be a GT35 or maybe a GT3076, ran with a rebuilt standard head and a set of 272's

i had toyed with the idea of pushing the standard ecu along a bit further with an FP green turbo...

lots of options available but before i decide i'd like to have a ride in a few cars... see how they compare to my expectations.

so with an apexi avc-r you have to wire this up to the ecu ? Is this something you have to do and why ? or is it optional ?
