Default fitting carbs to a puma - will this work?

basically i still have the carbs from my thundercat, think they are about 40mm.

now, on the puma the injectors bolt directly to the head, thus meaning that if i mod the inlet i could fit the carbs, and fit a box to them and still use the MAF sensor and std management.

any reasons why this wont work, or is it just not worth it?

yes, im bored...

Needs cams dan, the main restriction on a Zetec-se a sstandard isthe exhaust and exhaust manifold and the cams, the standard inlet is good for 150+ bhp

Gets a set of shawspeed ss4 cams in if you're coing to carb it, easy see 150bhp

You have it half right.

Ditch the MAF and runs some megasquirt/gotech and you would be spot on.

forgot to say, its got a full piper exhaust system on it, the one they make for pumaspeed. 4-2-1 manifold, sport cat and 3.5" tailpipe

this alone has made one hell of a difference.

doug, i want to keep things cheeep you kow me lol

so keeping the MAF and std management would be a bonus. i can be done like this, just not ideal i know.

as for cams, was a possibility but the car is used every day, and ive had a cammed up car before and it wasnt great for everyday driving.

saying that, the puma wont be used every day now lol

I suggest you try a ss4 equiped car from shawspeed, hardly feels cammed at all, the torque and power figs at low rpm are as good as the oem cams

not wanting to spend on it really as i start a new job next week, and get a van, so im pretty sure it may have to go soon.

but i want to keep it to use as my track bitch, but i dont think the wife will let me (its her car, but she did say "do what the fuck you want with it" but you know what women are like, say one thing, and it means another lol )

Pointless IMHO, why waste loads of cash getting an extra 20BHP out of a slow car? spend the time and effort on the 3 door!!!!

Nope, FWD=

Seriously though, pointless, why ruin the cars fuel economey , relibility etc, to get a few extra horses? As said, get the 3 door finished, as I speak from experience when I say 400BHP rear wheel drive is a LOT more fun than any FWD car

I ytake your point but really you should experience those cams and see the figures before you comment.....they are no more severe than FRP spec and outperform those everywhere, economy, torque spread etc.

If you drive an FRP its magic.....would give on a normal stg3 cossie on standard-ish suspension a very hard time down a b road, no reason you couldnt make a normal Puma as good.
