Gearbox sticking when hot?

Gearbox sticking when hot?
I've got an Alfa 147 selespeed, I think it may have a fault with the actual gearbox (which is the same as a normal box). I'm wondering, has anyone ever had a gearbox that takes more effort or stops completely selecting a gear once it's warmed up a bit?
I've never taken a box apart to know how they work, do they have selector shafts/rods which can jam up?
I'm asking here because the alfa forums aren't too hot with tech stuff.

I've put fresh oil in it. The oil that came out looked fine, no swarf or anything in it.
Selespeed is the robotic box with the paddles on the steering wheel.
I'm wondering if maybe a selector in the box is jamming slightly as it gets hot. If it was a manual, you'd just force it in but because it's a selespeed, it only shifts at a certain pressure. If I redline it, it tends to go into 3rd gear (the one thats giving me problems), I am thinking this is because the system shifts gear faster at high revs so might be banging the gears in harder.
I'm just wondering what'd cause the box to jam up when it's hot.

No, it's a little unit on top. I'm not sure whats causing the faults. It doesn't show any errors on the diagnostic software. The pressure in the system is fine, it seems like somthing is getting hot and sticking. Thats why I was thinking the gearbox.

It starts acting the fool after about 20-30 minutes of driving. That said, if you drive it for say 15 minutes, leave it parked for about 5 minutes, it'll balls up straight away when you drive it again. So it may be a heat soak issue.
Electrical maybe?
Thinking about it, I might just leave it idle for an hour or so tomorrow and see if it's the under bonnet temps that are causing problems.
