Default Whats a "screamer" pipe

what does it do, why do you need one, etc etc?

i've herd it a few times and have no idea what it is.

its a pipe off an external wastegate

im sure someone else will elaborate

It is used to vent exhaust gas from an external wastegate, if you have a turbo with an external wastegate. Called a screamer pipe because it usually makes a racket!

I thought it was external gate only, but quickly got shot down in a thread earlier this week. Ill see if i can find the thread

It is but a wastegate is a wastegate, Be it internal or external. Christian used to have a screamer pipe on his GT28 CVH, internally gated. Took it of though due to noise I think.

ah cool. i've youtube'd it since, and i recognise the noise. makes the engine sound broken imho.
