ive got 2 300 watt infinity reference speakers mounted in 18mm mdf, but i dont think theyre loud enough. Im now wondering whether to get 2 more for the front or up grade the 2 i already have and get the same for the front. The trouble is i dont think the speakers can produce enough sound for my liking. I know i need a sub but i can afford a sub at the moment (hopefully next month) so can any1 recomend a really good make (6x9, sub and amp)
this might not be in the right place

id personally recommend going for a decent set of components up front ~( infinity reference series with separate tweeter and crossover are good for around £100 if your on a budget ) with NO 6x9s and a decent sub and amp.
I had this set up and it sounded great, not too loud so you could only hear the bass, with the 6x9s it seems you just get volume not sound quality, which imo is not a good thing. The sound balance with just the fronts means it sounds great from drivers seat, its very balanced and not all coming from behind you which i dont like either ( though probably down to personal preference).
If the front components are amped then you shouldnt really need anything in the back
JBL GTO series amps are pretty good, and im pretty sure their subs arent too bad either? if youve got around £150 for a sub id recommend the one i bought, a Boston Acoustics G2-1244 it sounds fantastic and when i bought it it was sub of the year, can get it on caraudiodirect im sure for around that price, ive only ever had an Audison amp and its the best investment i made, will last years,

all depends on what you want
all my stuff is on a budget bar my component set
i have
2xfli 12 inch subs
1x800 watt fli amp for the subs
1x 400watt fly amp for front components
1x 350 watt cheap amp for the 6x9s
fli 6x9s
6.5 and tweet kicker resolution component set, (10 years old lol)
the fronts out power the 6x9s by loads as the 6x9s are just there for rear fill and passengers where as the components do the rest of the work
and i can chuk anything at the system and it seems to like it bar low bass notes as the subs dont like which i need to sort, but i think i ahve the rcas wrong lol

hi pal dont forget your main source tho, your head unit, if you have got a bobbins head unit your pissing in the wind, i keep swapping between a sony and alpine head unit, you will be suprised of the sound quality even tho you got your speekers running through amps, i find that the sony is louder than the alpine by far but, the alpine sounds better, bear it in mind pal!!!
